I have tried to flash via cd and http with no luck. Every time it starts and then saye erase failed. Bank 1 now gets a frag and bank 2 still loads flash bios 3.0.3. I have tried using the evox m8 bios, x2_5032, and x2_5035. If I switch to bank one just before I flash it will erase more than when I do not. Any help would be very appreciated

when I use 5035 it gets about 1/6 of the way accross before it fails. If I switch to bank 1 just before I flash it goes a little bit further.

You may need a programmer (although I believe it's a faulty chip).

I've seen others recify this by erasing/flashing with a programmer, but I don't want to advise you of this if it's not going to solve it.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Save your money and please I hope you have come back to check on your thread before you went out to buy a programmer and possibly complicate things anymore!!! If not...oh well.

But if you are checking:)
When you are using a 2.6, there have been a rash of problems concerning the pack of black wires and connector that connects to the external switch panel. For some reason this is prominent with newer 2.6 ce's...who knows why. Anyway... try removing the connector from it's socket on the external switch board and look to make sure the wires are all seated well. Then take that cable and use some needle nose pliers to seat that thing as well as possible into the socket. I had this problem...mine would hang about 1\6 of the way too. You may even try pressing it together with your fingers while flashing just to make sure.
Good luck

Cool - please let me know if this works too. I have a 2.6 Troubleshooting guide and will add it if it's credible!!!

Re: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

THANK YOU! I just saw this post thinking I fried my brand new chip. Sure enough, holding the cable tight did the trick!
