Erase Failure

Hey guys, I have a 1.0 XBOX and an Xecuter 2.6CE chip and I'm flashing via HTTP. I tried to flash Bank1 and the erase failed so now it frags on Bank1. So I boot into Bank2 and try to switch over to Bank1 and flash again. I don't have a programmer, so I don't want to screw up Bank2.

I have tried several BIOS versions (5032, 4981) and I have tried to make different bios bins using x2bm. Some of the bins are rejected, but most just fail to erase. Sometimes it will get 10% in and crash; other times it won't even get started.

Oh and holding the wires/connecter in doesn't help, so now what? I'm a total n00b to this so any help would be appreciated.:D

First off, 5035 is the newest bios. Second, booting from bank 2, there is no need to switch to bank 1. Flashbios ALWAYS flashes the first 512k to bank 1, it doesn't matter what bank you booted from. Did you check to make sure the switches are good?

I apologize, I was holding the connector. I pushed on the wires and it worked. I installed the x2 5032 and it booted up once, but most of the time the screen is just black. Anything I'm doing wrong there?

Did you flash with the right version (vOld)?

Contact the place you got the chip from and ask them to send you a new switch.
