Agreed Multibuilder is turning out to be the most rocksolid app for building images for the moment. Try that. Failing that you can go the original method using python to build the image. Try multibuilder and post back if you have any problems.

had to reinstall windows n all. did a reading again of the nand (dont know if because I wrote the .ecc file the nands are no good. but I am able to boot into xell and get cpu and dvd key.

Think I'm going to need to do a sticky on LDVs.... :)

Boot to XeLL

count the FFFs on lines 7 and 8. This is your LDV number.

Open freeboot.bin in 360 Flash Dump Tool.

The HIGHEST LDV needs to be this number. If it's lower, you need to change it.

Either manually patch in 360 Flash Dump Tool or rebuild a new image but edit options.ini in multi_builder to reflect the ldv you saw in xell.

I think Im asking for a lil too much but can I send you the info and files and u creat a working freetboot n ecc for for me?

Seriously?:facepalm: He told you what to do. Just do it lol.

Also, he can't do it without the LDV, which you have to boot xell to get, as he said. And if you do that, all you have to do is type the number.

360 Flash Tool errors when you try to open a NAND that has been patched with the .ecc file. I don't know if there is a way around it or not.

When you run multibuilder I assume you get this error? What version are you using? (I did my testing with v3)

I did the steps you said you did. Built the glitch image from a NAND that had the ECC patch done to it. It appears that as martin said, it should work but you will need to manually insert the LDV in to the 'options.ini' under the variable line 'cfldv = '

Does the rebuilt image open in 360 Tool at all? I tried that as well and mine did, but as previously indicated by the error, the LDV was wrong and set to 0.

Maybe because you've not configured 360 Flash Dump Tool for your NAND?

Missing the CPU key perhaps?

Why not just rebuild with multi_builder then?

not missining the key but the LDV is 0
Ive never used multi builder. will give it a try.

yes thats the problem Im having. I dont have the original dump. I only have the dump after patching the .eec file.

you can open a freeboot file though, which is what he's trying to do.

yes thats what Im trying to do but it wont let me edit.

yes this is the error Im receiving. I am using v3. I could open the rebuilt image w/ 360 tool. but it wont let me edit it. my ldv is also set to 0. I will try to manually insert the ldv in the options. ini. my xell only shows 2 f's in line 7 and 0 in 8. so I guess Im replacing ldv 0 w/ 2?

If you click patch at the bottom of 360 Tool;
Tick the "Patch Headers" box;
Then type in your LDV in to the SECOND box;
Click ok;
It will ask you to save the patched image, make it a new name.

Ta da!

PS I don't know if the CPU Key must be inputted in the tool for this, either way, might as well put it in since you have it!

PPS I tested this with the dump I made the exact way you made yours.

Yes
