Error 05 after 3 years of perfect operation

I think the chip is the 2.6. its been a while and i have modded many boxes since then. I took the dvd player out to flash another box that had the dreaded thomson dvd drive in it. after i put the box back together, I am getting 05 error whether the chip is on or not. I dont think it is a lock issue and i am afraid to fool with the solder job as I didnt do this one. Is it possible the D0 point is the culprit?

i say you have to look at your install as your chip sounds like its not working will it boot backups

thanks for the reply. The box goes to error 05 even if i boot to the microsoft db. So whether I boot with chip on or not i get 05 error. i think it is the hard drive but i cannot be sure. I did get it to work once or twice then when i put everything ack in it 05'd again.

its not hard drive
the hard drive is unlocked and ms dash will not work till its locked
so your chip is to blam

You are correct and i found the problem. Seems one of the wires from the chip to the front switches was mashed and not connecting very well. I spliced it and all is well.
