My sun and I installed the x3 mod and all was fine FlashBIOS screen 3.0.1 and in disabled mode normal operation. My son played for hours today.
Then he was attempting some flash thing (not sure why). He put bank swithces in ON, ON, OFF, OFF with chip protect OFF.
Booted and then it started.
Now either we can enable into the FlashBIOS (w/Blue LED) or when disabled (Red LED) we get the XBOX splash intro and then we see a HD access and then up pops a screen with green text saying that the device needs service.
The big LED ring flashes Red and Green but No it does not reboot 3 times or anything like all the posts about FRAGs. We have checked the solder joints etc. And if we completely unplug the mod board and adapter board (totally removed) we still get the same error (05) and green text. If we unplug the HD we get the same green text and then (07) but the timing of the events is a little different.
Is this a D0 thing? We had a trace left off the board originally during the mod so we did a jumper fix for the trace related to D0. I don't think this is it because all was working fine. I checked the jumper and it looks OK.
Is the Hard drive dead?
