Hello,
I am new with xBox and I installed the X3 in my old 1.0. I had to buy a new motherboard (1.6 board) because I ruined the first one.

After I installed the Executer 3 and flash BIOS with X3 1959, but I have an error code 06 in my original 10 Gb HD. I did a research and it look like the disc is lock/unlock

My idea is to upgrade my HD to 160 gb, but now I can not move forward with this.

Can anyone advise ? Sorry if this a dummy question.

it's b/c your hd is locked to your 1.0 mobo and not 1.6. You need to unlock it first with 1.0 mobo then lock it after installing with the 1.6 mobo using x3 live.

If you have a backup copy of the HD and bios information from the old mobo/hd combination, you should have a copy of the key that the hd was locked with. At that point you would then be able to plug the hd into the IDE bus of a regular computer and use an HD unlock utility to unlock the HD with the old locking key.

After that has been done, the harddrive can be returned to the xbox and locked to the new mobo.
