Error 21 with new HDD

Installed 250GB Western Digital. Partitioned and formatted using X3CL (120 GB to F, rest to G). Locked drive and rebooted. Copied C and E from original HDD.

When booting to chip, everything works fine. When trying to boot to default M$ Dash, I get Error 21. Most of the FAQ's I've seen on error 21 are relatively old. Is this still a problem with the new X3's using the latest BIOS revision?

So far I'm not having much luck getting it fixed . . .

Thanks for everyone's suggestions. I finally fixed it by getting a downgraded dash from a friend's Box. I'd really like to run the most current M$ dash if possible. There is a confirmed screen overscan error in Halo2 that doesn't occur in the newer dash's. Has anyone gotten an upgraded HDD to successfully work with the latest dash?

Thanks again.

Sure.. All you have to do is run Live! and it will update your dash.

Just make sure that your chip is turned off.

--UPDATE--

Logged in to M$ Live & it informed me I needed a dash update. After all the updating was done (dash ver 185ead00), I started getting error 21 again. It is *definitely* a dashboard issue. I have since downgraded again (dash ver 10027100), and everything's back up.

Is there anyone who regularly gets on Live AND has a bigger HD ?

Is your HD all put on the F:\ drive or is it split into F:\ and G:\ ?

TIA,

~Vol

I get on Live!, (in that system) I have an 80 Gig Hard Drive, and it is all in F: and NEVER have Error 21 Problems.

Is it possible that the existence of the G:\ drive is what's causing the problem? Is there anyone out there using Live! as well as having an F:\ and G:\ drive?
