i have a jasper 512 block and after a while of playing it went well. it gave me three red lights. error code 0110. read up that it could be ram problem and reflow of ram chip needed. it says 90 percent fixable. is that true and where is the ram chip at. i see i left my coolrunner on slim rather fat. did that made the chip go bad.:frown:

When you say you were playing it for a while, are we talking a couple of hours? Days? Weeks?

If it is a true 0110 RAM chip error then you would want someone to reflow them properly for you, and would be pure coincidence and nothing to do with RGH'ing it or leaving the coolrunner on slim rather than phat.

Sounds like it is indeed a hardware failure mobo side. The CR should be ok. Did you get see what temps it was running before it RROD'd? 0110 can also be fixed somtimes with a simple xclamp fix.

The Xbox 360 ram chips are located on the bottom of the motherboard. There is 4 black chips.
There is 8 chips 4 on bottom and 4 on top. More than likely its the 2 located under the gpu heatsink.

Check the services section for some one that can do a proper reflow for you.

You shouldn't need to put ANY pressure on it to work. From what you've told me, it's not reflowed.

Also, the 12V is a complete waste of time. Don't even bother.

What screws? When a component has been reflowed, it shouldn't need anything more to work. I rest a couple of heatsinks on the CPU and GPU then fire it up - no pressure at all. All you're apparently doing is a clamp mod which will last you as long as it takes for the contacts to oxidate.

The 12V mod is a waste of time as the problem isn't to do with heat. All you're doing is making a very reliable console VERY noisy. You won't prevent anything.
