Hey guys

I installed the Coolrunner on a Falcon 5773 with RGH 2.0 in order to recover a DVD Key, i then uninstalled the Coolrunner and in order to write back my nand i keep on getting

"Error usb bulk write failed"

Now the console wont boot, cos the nand is corrupted. Could any of my solder points when i removed the Cool runner effect the writing to the nand.

I cant post pics now as i am at work. I have tried unplugging my nand x and power supply repeatedly

I've never had that error myself, but sometimes my Nand-X will stop communicating with my computer. Reconnecting solves it.

Reboot your computer, try uninstalling/reinstalling the drivers. Make sure your console is off when trying to read/write the Nand.

As long as you have the original Nands, you should be able to get this sorted. (Make sure you have backups until then.)

Check the standby clock point, wire B I believe, orange. That, and components nearby, are usually the culprit, especially if you can't boot your console. Post pics of that area specifically at your earliest convenience and I'll see if I can spot anything out of place.

Sick in bed, never had a chance to check the console again. I didnt use the normal Standby clock, i used the alt under the board. Will try and uninstall the drivers and reinstall.

The nand obviously wrote a bit onto it. Does that mean the console will boot or not?

bulk write failed normally happens if you power the console (plug in the PSU) AFTER connecting the NAND-x.

You should ALWAYS get power the console BEFORE you connect the NAND-x to the PC.

UPDATE:

I think something is shorting out on the console, finally it managed to write completely, and then when i disconnected the wires it would not boot at all. No power what so ever. Something is shorting the console.

Can somebody show me where and how i can check the 12v and 5v standby? and settings on my multimeter. The orange light stays on the power supply. Usb pins are fine

I have cleaned the flux up, this was taken before the cleanup

Have a look at some of my pics, i can take more if needed.

More updates:

I re installed the RGH 2.0

and also i rewrote the ECC back to the nand and now it has power and glitches to xell very quickly

When trying to flash the freeboot image via xell usb. I get bad blocks all over the show

I do have 2 matching nand dumps with no bad blocks

When trying to flash the original nand via xell i get a 1 light E79 error

When trying to write the nand or any nand via Nand x in J runner, i always get " usb bulk write failed" i plug the power cable first and then the nand x

When writing past the 50 blocks then its fine, after that i get usb bulk error. Could my nand x be faulty? i did re order a new one though. Maybe i damaged it

The fans are spinning crazy when i power on the console like a 12v fan mod

Any suggestions?

You're having issues with NAND read/write, yet no images of your NAND solder points?

Can you post these too?
Uploaded the pics

I removed the wires and RGH 2.0 a Jasper. When i wanted to write the Freeboot Nand via CMD i got usb bulk error again. But when i flashed the nand via xell it worked great.

Maybe i fried something on my nand x

But now when i try again to write more than 50 blocks it gives errors. Can get to xell but cant flash anything? I want to make it stock now.

The problem here, is between it working and now, you did something which is no longer evident. I see traces of stray solder on one of the wires, so at a guess, there's a solder related problem elsewhere.

Where can I start looking or check points? I've ordered another Nand -X, hoping that will be the problem, at the moment it boots to xell under 30s and that's it. I have a xell rgh xbox :)

The only person who can answer that is you. Everwhere you've been with an iron with a 3 inch radius, to be 100% sure.
Hi Martin

Finally managed to get to work on the console again. Decided to remove the Nand X wires, cut them and then tinnned them, re soldered them into place and BAM first time it wrote the original nand back

Thanks again consoles booting fine original dash. Might need to remove the Heatsinks and apply thermal paste cos the consoles fans are spinning a bit louder than before. :)
