Error when creating freeBOOT and Christmas lights

Hello,

I have a friend's JTAGed Xbox 360 that I do not have the original NAND for anymore. Something went wrong when trying to update it and it gave E79 (1033). So now I am trying to fix it.

I have the CPU key for the system. I've tried the "Repair Bad Nand" and "Convert XBR To Original" options in Jtag Tool V3.00 to get a clean / stock NAND. But when I flash the NAND I end up with Christmas lights every time (Xell still boots up and works fine though).

When creating the freeBOOT image using Jtag Tool I get the following warnings:

******* WARNING: crl data appears to be crypted or damaged
******* WARNING: please make sure [you] provided a DEcrypted extended.bin!

I have also tried going through the following tutorial and end up with the same x-mas lights:

Please let me know what I can do. This is for a Falcon Xbox 360. Point U6T1 on the bottom of the motherboard has been bridged. The JTAG is wired using the RoL board point and the alternate DB1F1 point on the bottom of the motherboard - using standard diode wiring.

If you can create a freeBOOT image for me using only my CPU key, please let me know and I will PM you the key.

You say you do not have the original nand for it anymore so how are you repairing a bad nand then ? if the bad nand is the real nand Upload it and give me the details and i have a look.. Christmas lights=Bad keyvault

I did read the NAND but there were errors / bad blocks.
I should have read it multiple times and compared but it's too late now. I do not have any sort of functional or 100% good NAND for this Xbox 360. All I have is the CPU key.

I have sent you the NAND image I read from the Xbox 360 and the CPU key in a PM.

That nand is a FB 12611 Twinbird are you also a 100% that CPU Key is right for all the world it like the wrong key check it again on Xell fuseset 3 and 5

If you like you can send to me. Ill see what I can do. I messed up my jasper jtag and created a freeboot image with just the KV and config. Shouldn't be hard to do. All you need is a donor nand.

What was on the xbox before you tried? Did someone else do this jtag for you?

Its a piece of piss to build a new nand with a kv do you think i cant do that part or something he hasn't got a kv read his first post he has got a CPU key that's it.
The fb dump that he has is not unlocking with the CPU key this is why i told him to check fuseset 3 and 5 in Xell again to make sure his not mistaking a number for a letter or even a wrong number..

prolly no help, but i just went through a similar problem last week with a zephyr, i had to change my alt solder points, and reflash. then my xmas lights went away. not meaning to step on Johnny2good's toes, because he is the man!

My friend tried to update the Xbox 360. He probably flashed it with freeBOOT 12611 but did not configure the SMC to use the alt points... this resulted in RRoD E79. I now redid the wiring and tried to flash it again but there was errors in the original read (I should have read it again and got a 100% good read but can't change that now).

Anyways, I double checked the CPU key. He gave me the CPU key and a snapshot of Xell. I also took a picture while the console was in Xell here. CPU key matches.

Johnny2good, I sent you a picture of Xell so you can confirm.

EDIT: It works when I flash it with a freeBOOT or NAND image from another Falcon Xbox 360. I guess I will just use the freeBOOT from the other Xbox 360 (neither have been online anyways). I will just need to spoof the drive now so it matches the info on the NAND - or is this not necessary with a JTAGed Xbox?

well while waiting on you i managed to get some info from that corrupt fb even tho the cpu key was opening nothing i had to use a donor kv to swap sh*t over and back to a falcon nand got the drive key and that but the make of the drive was not there the fb is missing alot of info but i built one with what i had.
I will take a look at the CPU fueset pic you sent there might be more for me to go on or not to build a new one.

ok now ? the drive is a PLDS DG-16D2S that much i have is it a 7s = 7485 need to know so i can patch it the nand is done then that is the best i and do with the corrupt fb gave me.
Also what is the SMC Points original or Aud_ and it is a 0x00FF | NTSC/US Region console yes ?

Any how, with-out the KV no building the image.

Use a donor and the CPU Key from the donor. Done and done.

Which he obviously has cause he said if he flashes the image from a different falcon it works.

Your nand and CPU key will never work with out the pairing KV. Use the donor you have. Not like you're trying to get on live.

No prob TilVl i was going to myself is he trying to piss me off or something lol anyway i have donor falcon nand and the CPU key so i can patch and write what i like so his CPU Key and Dvd key is on it now i used what info i could get off the fb bin rawconfig.bin / SMC and other info to get it as near as i can for him if it don't work i have another one for him to try.
Now if he just answer my questions i can call it a day...

Confused heemm yes so now i am after making another Feeboot this time it has original SMC points .. PM sent with the password for the download with your kv info/ nand / FB ..

The freeBOOT you created for me resulted in x-mas lights. Thank you for the help though.

If it is not too much work for you, can you please create another freeBOOT image (or explain to me how I can do this myself). If not that is fine I will just leave it with the freeBOOT from the other Falcon console.
