even after a successful flash it keeps returing to FlashBIOS

I have the flash protection off and I am able to flash the bios., the yellow and green bars appear and the xbox turns itself off. But soon as I turn the xbox on FlashBIOS 3.03 appears again, I have tried flashing both banks of the xecuter 2.6. It is a 1.4Xbox. I have looked around the fourm and I have not found anything specific to solve this problem.

The methods I have used are: Flash via HTTP and via CD.

Yea., I'm using flashBIOS to install x2.5035 and I've also tried an older x2.4083.06 BIOS. For some reason the chip will not flash even though the flash protection is off and flashBIOS procedes to the flashing phase., goes through it and turns off the xbox. I turn the xbox back on and I'm back to flashBIOS 3.0.3.

Maybe it's flashing to the first four banks and the the last 4...

If you have a 1.6b you shouldn't be trying to flash over 3.0.3 anyway... if you screw up you just wasted your chip...

Try booting to 5 - 8 and then switching to 1 - 4 and then flashing.

I am sure that I have a 1.4 xbox. I'm using Xecuter 2.6CE so I'm not sure how i can acesss the banks 5-8 Since it only has a 1MB flash. And the switch has 3 options . chip on/off, flash proection on/off and bank1/bank2

I was able to resolve the problem. By doing the unthinkable... I created a 1MB bios full of 2 copies of x2.5035. Its unthinkable because if I scrwed up I would not have a flashBIOS to fall back to. But somehow this worked.. just got lucky i guess. I'm just posting this for anyone else in the future who might have the same problem. Remember if you do this and something goes wrong you will not be able to flash again and your chip will be dead, unless ofcourse you buy a programer for $12. Once again solution: I filled all my banks with the same BIOS.
