So its been a while since i was in the firmware flashing game and everything has changed last time i re did my firmware was back in the very new 360 firmware but i have a 360 lg16ds and i have all codes saved on my computer could i just upload a new firmware to it with my code or has it completely changed?

Best thing to do is revert to stock then update your 360 to newest dash. Then match applicable LT+ to your dvd drive type. Re-flash and your all set.
If you plan on dual nand or RGH then dont go past 14719 before dumping your nand.

If Like you say you havent been in the game for So Long you will need this
1) if you got your key BEFORE your drive fw was 02510C get your key again, its recommended
2)Flash Your Drive to Stock Fw so its like original now
3) go to xbox live and do all the updated necessary
4) after you have updated, use your new Key and put on the latest CFW which is currently LT3.0
