Hi...

by the looks of the forums it seems like alot pf people have problems installing the x3, i was thinking about getting one myself, but it seems harder then it seems to install the chip, if anybody could help me with anything b4 i should install the chip that would be nice, i have th 1.6v, and im a lil confused on the alt 5v wire, does it connect to that part where i have to insulate if i didnt have the 1.6v? anything else would help... thanks

Installing chips whether on a 1.6 or not is cake. Just study the install guide a bit and do it to it. The only reason people have trouble is because they f*ck something up themselves. The alt 5v is for 1.6's because microsoft tried to make an unmoddable xbox and failed. Look at the diagram and solder it where it goes. The rebuild is easy too so long as you make sure you are soldering the correct points. Good luck!

Samsung ms28

Hi guys,
im new so if im being dump let me know.
i got this xbox 360 from a friend, it had the rrod so i temp fixed it with some towels.
dvd drive was also broken and xbox couldnt turn on with it connected.
anyhow, i bought a replacement drive and i want to flash it. (dont know if its possible but i tried following a guide anyway)
jungleflasher saw he drive but couldnt verify the key.
or it wasnt there, i dunno.
anyhow when i unlocked the drive and pressed read i got: 0x4194 00000000000000000000000000000000
now i can verify that it could play dvd's beforehand.
however i wouldnt know (and doubt) that it could play any games.
i think he friend the dvd drive while doing the cross wire method.
so what i wanted to know was.
the old one is a samsung ms25
the replacement i have is a ms28
is there any way that i can flash the ms28 with the key from the ms25 and how do i get the key from the ms25 if it doesnt work..
xbox kernel is: 2.0.8955.0

1. try putting the PCB from the old samsung into the new one
2. if the dvd drive doesn't respond/open/close then there is NOTHING you can do to get the key

3. your xbox won't play games ever again

nope, wont respond.
any way to repair the pcb itself ?
cause its probably a fried component.

oke other question.
if the pcb is fried (which it is) is there any way to know which part is fried and replace that with a part from the ms28 ?

i highly doubt it

the only thing you could do is to remove the flash chip from the bad board and put it onto the good PCB

which one is the flash chip ?
i have the tools required so no problem there, but i need to know which one to replace
