Hey,

I have a executer 3 installed in my 1.6 xbox.

Everything seems to work just fine however I notice that after I am playing a backup after some time when it goes to reload or load it freezes. But everytime this happens I notice that the color of the X on the panel has turned red? I have also noticed while playing a backup that it will just turn red after a while but continue working until the next load? Is this a feature or somthing on this chip? Is there a way that I can just have the chip stay enabled the whole time When I boot from it enabled, like not have an auto disable? Or is this a problem that cant be solved due to settings?

I have searched for an hour on the forums and I cant see anyone else with this problem.

Thanks in advance!

Yeah a dry joint/dodgy solder point may give out after a while as things heat up. Also check the X3 is seated on the pin header (if u used it) correctly.

Just so I have this straight...

So basically the fact that after a period of time when my X turns from blue to red. That means that there is somthing wrong somewhere? BUT that it really doesnt matter becasue the ONLY time the chip is used and needed is for the intial boot of the backup? Is there not any after boot dvd checks on the games once it is running? I initially thought it was a feature of the chip to allow xbox live play ( the chip disabled itself ) LOL. Well I really believe that the solder points and chip is seated properly. Should I bother to just touch over all of them again or just leave it?

Thanks for the help!

some where
like xecuter saied the only time the bios is used is at boot not the game boot . when the machine is first booted thats the only time the bios i initilized just like if you change sh*t in config live u'll need to reinitilize the bios (reboot) so if your chip turnning red after boot makes no difrrence as long as u booted with it blue

unbricking ms28

first of all, sorry if this question has been posted before. but i have some twist in the tail.. totally in out of my head here...

i got 2 xbox with me both modded, but one is 3rlod with a gdr-3120l - 0078fk still fine. and the other is a good console with a messed up ms28 drive - totally messed up the flash, accidentally unplugging power.

my questions are:

a) since i grew tired of fixing the 3rlod one, is it possible to use the drive with the fine one? if yes please inform me...

b) is it possible to unbrick the ms28 without any ck3 or all them what-nots... i just use and own a pc wth sata2 motherboard (asus p5k premium) and willing to download and use programs that i can download.

btw i didnt save any firmware of any kind for the ms28, crap... i also read somewhere about replacing the pcb, will it work if i swap the good drive with the bad drive pcb even they are both a different brand?

any advice will be appreciated... thanks to all the gurus out there.. thanks again

Re: unbricking ms28

if a drive has been bricked and you never got the key the system with no longer play 360 disc's, expect for Hitachi's sometimes i think. You may be able to use the ms28 with a different system & its key but thats it. Also if you not powering a drive with the system its smart to ground the two together
