Everything was working now its not, this is what i did

I have V 1.4
Ececuter 3 CE

now i have the control panal in the front of my xbox wot the Protect button and Banks buttons... now i have the latest version of flash bios. I tryed to flash a V16 flash to (all buttons in front pressed "turned on") then it froze half way. the green bar stopped for a few mins so then i restarted my xbox. Now when i try to reflash my 1MB bank ... it wont even let me try to flash it , that UNKNOWN FLASH! HALTING message comes up, usually this is when the chip is protected, but im sure its unprotected. Light is RED not green ... i didnt eventouch it... please help

the v16 one is for xbox version 1.6. You just said you have a 1.4 so use the other bios.
Use the X3 3294.bin file not the v16plus.
The switches should be either ON ON OFF OFF or OFF ON OFF OFF, not all ON.
Make sure the chip and the switch are both on protect off. The chip may be mislabled, toggle that as well. Red light for both the chp and control panel.

I will try again but i have been trying to flash the X3 3294.bin again, i made SURE that it is unprotected but it still says its Halting .. i will give it another shot now ... is there any way i could have damaged the modchip cause i resetted the xbox while it froze when it was flashing?

Thanks Poida^

If you are able to get into FlashBIOS, I doubt the chip is damaged.
Reseat your chip and check everything again... The connection to the chip could be funny if you are unable to flash with flash protect off.

Same problem here...

I have the same problem here with a v1.6. I've tried both banks and even swapped the cystal switch i have for the one included with the chip, just in case it wasn't working. I've tried to burn the bios on two different DVDs (my drive doesn't take CDs) but got nothing yet.

I'm trying X3 3294 v16plus.bin renamed to bios.bin with a 75 MB Rar file renamed to dummy.bin

You need a dummy file greater than 100MB.
Create it with the tool, don't use a RAR file.

first thing to note is that the X3 3294 is only for X3 chips - not X2 chips and will not work. DO NOT FLASH X3 BIOS TO X2 CHIP!!!!!

the X3 Bios also has to be 1MB - did you split it? guess it does not matter - as you should not be flashing to an X2 chip

try using the X2 5035 512k bios. That is the best bios for you chip. For the flash DVD/CD to work the bios needs to be renamed bios.bin - remember to do this!

Let me just say 2 things ....

1- First thing is that i found out how to fix the problem alabak2002, you have to simply restart your computer then try to flash again. fo rsome reason when you turn off the xbox while it flashes then freezes, it will say HALTING everytime youlll try to flash again. Just Restart your computer then it should work.

2- OK ... let me just say that im not going to be modding for a bit cause RIGHT when i got my sh*t to work ...BELIVE IT OR NOT!!! my fan fell from the cieling on to my xbox when i jumped up in the air saying "ITS WORKING!! i dont F**** Belive this ..... ill send pictures in a bit.

Tried agains; stil stuck

Yesterday I tried until 3 AM, then gave up. All the day was aget to put my hands again on that damn box... :p

So I open it up again, just to check that everything was still in place and to se if the flash protect of the chip (first time I didn't looked at it) was in "unprotected" (red LED) position. This time I tried to flash an ISO file (300 MB dummy + BIOS file) a friend sent to me.

I tried once, and no way, tried twice and nothing...

After four hundred trials (even tryng changing from 1234 bank to 5678) I still have nothing. Powered on and off, took the power cable out, kept it without power for a while and still nothing...

 My wife is starting to look weird at me...

finished another way

me st0000pid... :p

Thank you... but I've succssfully flashed the darn thing via HTTP (from computer in other room, then ran to the box, looked to ceiling, no dangling fans, lamps tightly in place, jumped in silence, went to sleep ... 2 AM again...)

Next step: filling up the HDD...

recommended dashboard? :D
