Is the new external board optional or essential. My friend had a 2.6 installed for him a few months ago with no external board and it works fine. It just seems a bit of a pointless addon, since everything works fine without it.

I would think that you need it. I mean you have to set the dip switchs to on,on,off,off and off so to set the first one meg. I see after you load the bios i think you shouls be able to remove it. He might have taken it off to not let anyone know he has one. I like the beautiful colors. I would leave it on so that you can tell if the mod is in modded state or in the backup state.

Has your friend opened the Xbox to make sure there's a chip in there?
How does he disable the chip in order to boot to a std MS BIOS?

Hello, I have a Hitachi 79 drive and my SATA card is a VIA VT6421. I've seen so many different things about whether to use Junglflasher or Toolbox that I don't know what to use now! Is it just a matter of opinion?

Do I remove ALL the drivers for the card? I've been pretty confused about how to go about all the installation stuff for the card. I installed some 5.30 driver for the card, but idk if that's the right one or not.

I also see in jf where it says to uninstall the drivers, so I did that, but jf still doesn't see the drive..
