If you are gonna use an external, you need an internal first. You know, to boot an Xexloader. An iso can not be loaded. You need to extract it or make it into a godpackage using ISO2GOD. It can be transfered with an usb or with ftp.

Personally I'd use an internal 2.5" HD as a primary storage unit and for running all main apps and games. Then add an external 3.5" as a secondary unit at a later stage.

And for the prices you get the 2.5" HD's it's really good value for money, I ordered this last night for use on my main JTAG console.

When i said Xexloader, i didn't mean the actual application. just some xexloader like fsd, which i prefer :). I have a million apps for my jtag, but yes, i guess it it all you need.

The only thing ypou are 'worng' about is not caring about emulators, lol ;)

Iso2god is not for running on your xbox. Its a computer app. So you run iso2god, convert your games to Isogames with it, and extract those to your hdd, to then run play with fsd.

And then, you use the thanks button :D

Toshiba Have just released a 750GB 2.5" hard drive that is only 9.5mm in depth so it will fit into the Ms HDD caddy. I picked one up the other day from ebuyer for £75.

you can do it with just an external usb drive, let the 360 put its 16gig partition on to it and use that for dlc screen name etc, no need for an "internal one" use freeboot to boot xex loader fsd off the hd.

makes life easier for transferring iso's new dash's, homebrew, etc, just plug it in to your pc.

Yeah ill get a external one when Ive filled up the 750gb. Just like not having to carry around a external drive. They are cheaper though! Ebuyer are doing a 1TB segate external drive for 50quid!

The drive has to have a thickness of 9.5mm to fit in the MS caddy.

Connect the hard drive to your PC and format it as FAT32, that's on the basis you are using a hard drive with external casing and USB connection!

This is something to do with your external hard drive or the controller inside the case. What make and model it is? Got a link to the product you bought?
