Hi all,

I'm new here and I thought I'd get into 360 modding now I'm up to scratch with repairs etc.

I recently aquired 7 360s in exchange for some PS3s Ive been repairing, none had drives in, but I also received 10 drives and loads of spare parts. I managed to fix 6 of them so Id say that was a good run :D

Down side, none of the consoles play games. Consoles play DVDs fine and games show as DVD instead.

One Xenon is on 6717 I think (definately 6xxx) and 3 others are too high for JTAG (8xxx - 13xxx). Two of the consoles however were HDMI so are not Xenon boards (falcon I think - can confirm once I double check). I was looking up on the Coolrunner Rev B. If I get ONE and solder it to a HDMI board would it be possible to install something to extract the DVD key from the motherboard? Afterwards would it then be possible to remove/desolder the Coolrunner and revert the system to stock? Then could I use the Coolrunner on the other system to do the same (so only using one Coolrunner)?
I was going to purchase this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Team-Xecuter-coolrunner-RGH-xbox-360-/170756253109
Will this be all I need to install the RGH and get the DVD Keys for each board?

I am not wanting to chip/flash or anything else just to get the DVD Key so I can sell the system as fully working instead of only playing DVDs. If I keep a console back I may flash the one I keep but that will come later.

Ive read up on Jtagging too and I have found a kit I may be able to get to get the code from the Xenon but I am unsure yet. This is the JTAG kit I was thinking of for the Xenon board: http://www.ecrater.co.uk/p/7975932/xbox...-utility-bundle

Also is there any way to get the DVD keys from the Xenons that are 8-13xxx?

Also is that everything I need (those two links) or is there something else I will require? And if youve seen the same items from UK any cheaper please let me know :)

Thank you all so much in advance :)

The ebay package with everything would be all you and the mr modchips nand-x to coolrunner programmer is fine.

But i prefer to use ck3.co.uk.

Never had a problem with them for my coolrunners and cables.

To get the key of a mobo you need to read the Nand, so you need the nand X
Then you need the Coolrunner to initiate the glitch to boot xell, which will retrieve your key.

Once you have your cpu key (dvd key also shows up in xell) you can decrypt the nand to find out which specific drive was attached to the mobo at first, saving on the need for just putting any old 360 drive into it.

Once you have the key. You can re-program the nand back to original and flash a drive to work with it.

Then re-use the coolrunner in another installation.

Aye, managed to get it for £38 in the end. Ended up buying the cable from the link I put up so I hope CK3 wasnt cheaper lol.

Paid by card for the cable but insured with the Securecode thingy and paypal for the rest.

Also got a reballing kit so I can fix the 0022 error I have on the 7th console and hopefully the dash will be old enough to pair a drive. Although it is the only console that had a drive in so I hope its the right one.

Then Ill sell them to make the money back and then hopefully get something to fix the others.

Thanks for your help.

Is there anything that can be done for Xenons above 7 series dashboards to extract the keys?

Cheers,

Unfortunately not.

I've heard rumours that putting a valid drive key on a drive, sticking it in a console and updating to dash 13146 can reflash the drive with the correct key... but I haven't seen any concrete evidence of that.

Worse case you can always use the board for reball practice. :)

Thats what I was afraid of :(

I have 4 or 5 Xenons :( One is a 6 series though so once I make my money back for the Coolrunner Ill buy JTagging equipment. Shame Coolrunner don't work for Xenons :(

But ye Ill practice on the Xenons then do it on the Xenon I have with 0022 and the Elite I have with 0022 ex-e74.

Thanks for the help :) Ill try reading into the drive key etc for the 13 series dash. Also updating it wont put me into any worse of a position I guess lol itll just be the same state it is now.

One more thing. Ive got the JTAG Tool - Coolshrimp 4.23 or whatever the latest is lol. I now know what to do when it comes to flashing xell to the consoles but how do I go about reflashing the original nand before desoldering?

Advanced > Nand > Write .bin and select the original (from the several compared nands to confirm)?

Thanks for the help guys :)

Personally I just use Nandpro from the command line.

Assuming your original NAND is called nanddump.bin, then you'd want:

Nandpro usb: +w16 nanddump.bin

Obviously your NAND-X needs to be connected to the motherboard for that to work. :) I believe there is a section in the advanced tab of Coolshrimps tool to put your own commands in, so you can do it from there.

Well if I use Coolshrimp can I send NandPro commands on the command line tab?

Also when I select old dash and xenon it says I can still do it via NAND-x to jtag is this right? How would I go about using NAND-x with it if I cant use coolrunner?

Im guessing the newer xenon 360s are f--ked then?

Thanks

When reading and writing the nand images the commands should be:

Nandpro usb: -r16 nanddump.bin
Nandpro usb: -w16 nanddump.bin

The "+w" command is only used for the ecc file writing.
