If the LED is lit and goes off when then switch is held then the Probe is fine.

LITEON 74850 Extracted drive key failed verification

i get the 0x52 status so i guess there is a connection.
also when i move to the MTK32 tab i can see that the derive is in 0x52 status
Also the LED is ON when i probe and because i switch the power using the Ck3i switch i am sure that the power
cycle is right.
any idea what should i do?
someone told me that it was because i do not use the USBPRO.....
if i will use a standard USB2SATA cable will it be ok?

Try to use a older version off jungle flasher that ask you to do the prob in diferent way.
team jungle changed the way of probing in the last version of jungle flasher maybe the old way will work fine for you.

have the same exact problem now trying to mod a new xbox except my CK3 probe does not have an on/off switch... i have used this to mod same drives before but it's been a while...
i get "Extracted drive key failed" after i initally seem to get the dvd key correctly, turn ck3 off, wait 5 secs, turn on click okay get error
does it matter substantially that for some reason my ck3 probe does not have an on/off switch and instead i'm turning the ck3 on/off? is this the reason why it fails verify?
if so, then what else can i do other than turn ck3 on/off if my probe does not have a switch?

another duh moment, realized my probe is an older one CK3 Probe not Probe3... brain saw the 3 and assumed it was probe 3

also managed to fry my team-xecuter hd adapter right after i got it working with Injecting updates directly into my HD via horizon... damn hate being noobish

What is the revision of the drive. And i mean, not on the label, but the one shown in Jungleflasher
I.e. after 13146 update, all lite-ons become 02510c. Or if you have had LT firmware on it previously.
You cannot use the probe on R707 anymore after any one of the above scenarios
hey. this is an older dashboard, since the xbox was free from a promotion it's 126xx not sure offhand but way older than 13146...
so i probe r707 the question is can i do this with probe 1 or do i need the conversion cable?
again the xbox is virgin, broke the seals myself
and to answer your question jungleflasher says 7485 under revision so that's good right it's not a 2510c?let me know if you can help thanks!

You should be able to probe the R707 if the drive is pre 13146.

i'm actually back working on it right now so great ... my setup is an x360usb hooked up to ck3 pro with probe 1... got molex power to the ck3, while the x360usb is usb powered from my laptop.
com port is #10
-eject the drive then turn it off while it's closing
-i press DVDKey32 in JF 1.90, it says to power drive, i turn ck3 off, then on and then JF complains "serial data is bad", even when i probe r707 when i turn ck3 back on
i'm a bit confuzzled because i was following the wrong guide for a while (for 2510c and probe3) so now my knowledge of all this is just fuzzy
anyways for now stuck on serial data is bad.
however the probe does light up green when touching r707, something it never did when i was doing mpx01
i should also mentioned i have modded our two 74850s with this setup before, however that was pre dashboard 13599 so a while ago

Anything after 13146 dashboard will always require a probe 3.
to make things easier, get a probe 3 or convert you own to work. There are several guides on here, on how to add a switch to a probe, which is basically all it is.
It is so much easier. No com port needed at all.

yes i'm aware of that, but the unit i'm working with is a 126xxx dashboard so all i really care about is getting the dvd key, with a probe 1 and ck3 and x360usb, so is that possible? keep getting same 'bad serial data' error

this sh*t be getting me cranky
here's the setup
you can see the virgin-esque probe - no switches, no buttons on it just a probe.. i use JF 1.90, although tried older as well... put on DVDkey32, turn ck3 on/off, probe, press okay, always get same error
i used this setup to do other xboxes with older dashboards... any other info i might be missing?
something about locked/unlocked 74850 PCBs?
pretty soon gonna f* all this and just get a wasabi and run tons of games off a usb 2tb... this is too much pain in my arse... thanks for help tho
Put a switch on the 3.3v line and probe mpx01 then you can unplug your usb out of ck3 as not needed if ya put switch in 3.3v line
iX3.0 is not out yet anyways so i got a few days to order the probe3 conversion cable, placing order for something else so will the probe 1 to probe 3 conversion cable give me what you were talking about with the 3.3v line and enable me to try the Phatkey method?
this is a newer xbox from a cable company promotion, but with an older dashboard... still it's fairly recent..

for a while i was confused and was doing the mpx01/phatkey method and found a thread that specifically said that turning the ck3 on/off was a no-no when doing it that way, hence the switch on the 3.3
seems like maybe the same thing here?
i just refuse to give up, this setup here, i believe, should get that damned dvd key out
