Extremely slow after upgrade to X3

I had the X2.3b Lite Plus and recently upgraded to the X3. The install went smoothly and so did the flashing...but now its really slow. When I turn it on it takes about 3 minutes to boot the X3 config live or my dashboard. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong. This is my first X3 install, I've done many 2.3 and 2.6 installs and I do not think its my solder job.

Check the cable connecting HDD and DVD to mobo. :?

my friend's did this too after he installed the x3

it was because he knocked of a capacitor near the LPC port.

after i replaced it it worked perfectly

i thought knocking off something like that would make it fail to boot.

it wouldnt boot with the chip disabled but it booted with the chip enabled

Yo, I've also seen this or a very similar problem with a knackerd HDD. It booted up extremely slowly, when up to the evox dash, it was running at at 3 frames a second, noticable by the spinning 'evolutionX' logo not rotating in the usual smooth manner.

C: showed as 0% free, all others seemed norm.

Stuck another HDD in and it was fine.

Its very unlikely due to the nature of upgrade, but still worth mentioning...

Well last night I thought I would just try and fix it my own way so I resolder the D0 point since that was the only one that was a little sloppy and that sped it up big time. I didn't think it was that before because the FlashBios came up with no delay. Thanks to everyone for the feedback.

dash update failed

I have just been given my nephews 360 to try and fix, it failed whilst updating the dash.
Now I get a screen saying update failed PV 0.0.0.0 CV 2.0.8995.0

I have tried putting in the latest dash update on usb and cd but it will not work, I've looked for and tried using dash version 8995 but still the same
I've tried using a latest game, no good
He's not sure which game he was trying to update with but I think it was Assassins creed Brotherhood or Need for speed hot pursuit.

Any Idea's ?

i fix xboxs and if you get an error code that you cant find on google or anything then call microsh!t, sorry microsoft and relay the code..

if they dont have that code listed you can argue the fact they cant find a fix and youll get your console fixed for free out of warrenty!.

done it twice in aus.

I bought one with the same problem & went thru the same steps you did, contacted M/sh*t and after a dozen or so e-mails they wanted me to send it in with there reasonable 100_+ service fee to fix there update screw up. I guess there are not enough cases of this happening for them to fix it for free if it is over a year old.
