my F drive has 0 free.. why is this? its the original HDD 10gb. i have avalaunch dashboard and im tryin to download xbmc but it wont go im assuming b/c F has 0mb free and 0mb used.

any ideas?

there is no f drive, the native xbox has c, e, x, y, and z, and f is if you have an expanded hard drive, so that it still appears to be stock. There is no f drive on your hard drive.

depends on what DVD drive you have...they vary on media support.

Yes, if you upgrade your hard drive you'll use the F: (and G: if you'd like) as larger partitions for your storage

if you have the stock 10gb hdd then if you format a f partition you will get somewhere around 2 extra gb in there for a game or some apps. If you upgrade your hdd then you will get either a lrge f partition or a f partition up to 137gb and the rest will be g partition depending on how you formatted it. Better to just have one large f partition though.

Not really, if you fill up 180gb on one partition things will get slow and F*C* Up, Maybe if there was a Defrager for a Xbox Hard Drive then it might be OK.

uh no not really. Only problems i ever heard is that after filling f up with more than 250gb that something happeneds. Maybe if you've got a web page or quote explaining what your talking about.

You only lock the HDD so you can boot the MS dash (like if you want to play on Xbox Live). They use the locking as a security measure. So when you want to upgrade hard drives, you unlock your stock HDD (using the X3 BIOS) and make the necessary data backups, then take it out and put the new one in...then go through the HDD setup in the X3 BIOS and lock it if you wish.

Unlocking your stock hard drive will allow you to put it into another xbox or a PC.

No, you don't have to flash DVD firmware at all.

It goes back to your DVD drive being able to read only certain types of media...make sure you know which you have and what types you can read.

Roms are not included...and you'll have to find them on your own since that's a touchy subject.

FEAR 3 preview: On the run from The Wall

It's always a good sign when a representative for a game developer who's leading you through a demo tells you, "No, that's not an in-house nickname -- that's what this game mode is actually called." The gametype in question is FEAR 3's "F***ing Run" (its actual moniker), a four-player cooperative mode that sends players down streets and alleys filled with enemies, whom they must mow down as they race from checkpoint to checkpoint.

That would sound like a fairly uninspired experience, if it weren't for the gigantic, horrifying innovation Day 1 Studios has thrown in the mix: The Wall of Death. As the players shoot their way through the crowd, a towering black cloud pursues them, gobbling up any and all stragglers who rely on the safety of cover for too long.
