I got my Jasper booting, although at long boot times, but when it gets to the main screen, it freezes immediately. I try to load the 14699 avatar update via a flash drive, as in Fib3r's guide, and nothing happens. I have tried as both $systemupdate and as $$ystemupdate. Hopefully I am making a stupid mistake.

Here is a YouTube video of the process for added insight.

to update: plug in the usb before power on the drive

and if your RGH consoles freezes after boot, check your wires

Deal with the freezing problem first. It's your Coolrunner wiring.
That's what I was thinking. I had to create a bridge for the CLK point as it broke. Might have to go back and check that. Rest of the points went well. But will check all just to be safe!

If there was a problem with your repair of the Stby_Clk then the xbox wouldnt even turn on.
What do you think the problem might be? I plan to check each individual wire connection when I have a spare chance, just curious as to common problems.

If it isn't the wires it could be an FSD issue.

I had a Jasper that froze on the FSD screen after about 10 seconds but if you could start a game quickly enough it wouldn't freeze, in that case all I needed to do was delete the FSD folders and reinstall it and it worked.

Your problem isn't related to avatar update, but related to wiring position / soldering. Try to move the green wire (A pad - PLL_Bypass) in different positions. By the way, post pictures with actual wiring and soldering. That way, you'll get help faster and more precise. If the green wire isn't causing problems, try to play a little with CPU_RST (blue one - D pad).

By the way, it is a BB Jasper?

LE: Look here how the wires should be on the backside of the board. Take note of the "Phat RGH boot/freeze problem" picture at the end of the post.

wow, I'm such a moron. I fed the green wire under the X-clamps. That probably is what my problem is. I shall re-route it and try again! Thanks all!
