it says the drive is in vendor mode but getting no vendor ids or anything spi status 0xff

i didnt get key

is there anything i can do?

can i just buy the tx pcb board?

or do i need the key atleast?

i tried the soldering iron method, using xbox to power drive and sata onboard motherboard and jungle flasher saying it doesnt know what drive it is just that its a drive in vendor mode and when i power cycle it tells me to remove mra or something like that.

If you don't have the drive key :eek2: & the drive is now dead, you ducked (Quack) :facepalm:

Your only option now is to do the RGH to get your drive key again. Ouch :mad2:

I tried the Kamikazie Hack a few days ago and messed up my PCB :frown: (NOOB) the drive was going into vendor mode but it kept saying spi locked so i kept drilling (too far) :facepalm:

So i put the unlocked Replacement PCB in and flashed with 1.92 :p

Can't believe you tried the hack without saving your key. WHY?

I couldnt get the key in the first place there was no way i looked all around and the only way i saw to get the key was to do that.... FMY LIFE ewTgbwtfmr,.

The chip is write protected not read protected. You could have got your key.

If you can't do it yourself you will NEED to get someone to do the Reset Glitch Hack for you to get your key again.

can i probe it some how?

i also had questioned myself on the write protect thing.

You could try contacting Teajunkie or one of the other repair experts on here and see if they can help you out,I think sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and admit you need help on a project before you totally ruin it and have yourself a shiny paperweight......Good luck mate.

If its not dead.

Try Opening jf Goto DVD Key 32, check drive propertys, tick dummy bin & hit slimkey, press no then yes and then power cycle the drive. it should go into vendor mode & ask you to save the DUMMY file. Hit yes.

Ok i suggest that a public announcement something like this:

All noobs please do not try and do ANYTHING here, get ALL the tools needed B4 you even try and flash ANYTHING!

Ppl like you m8 really deserve your box to go bad, ffs how many ppl try nd fail because they are too cheap to spend money?

Look here's it simple 4 you:

No kit, onboard sata, xbox powering the drive = Total and epic fail from the start £150 door stop (unless glitch)

usb pro, ck3 pro or lite, external molex supply, JF + Tut, and a brain = One perfect xbox flash.

Just try reading

surprised you got such a response seeing are your supporting TX by actually not owning anything they made

then when the cheapass method doesnt work u want help
u should of bought the Max kits just to rub it in aswell
