Hi guys,

After installing several mod chips, working properly...now one weird thing happened!
I installed an X3 and a MAXTOR 120GB on an XBOX 1.6
The Xbox did it all for about 4 months, but last week problems started. After three boot-failures, the led started flashing red/green. So after trying turning on/off several times the Xbox (chip enabled) worked again. Two days later same problem, but now turning on/off several times didn't work anymore. So I tried to flash the bios...and it worked again properly! But not for long, the next day, again the same problem: 3x boot and then led flashing red/green...

I tried to flash the bios again (several banks), but the "green flash-bar" (this one comes after the "yellow flash bar") in the flashing mode stops at 3/4...

I read somewher this is known as "Christmas Lights" and that my chip might be broken...

Does someone recognize the problem? Should i send back my chip?

Thanx! Nevertheless Xbox and X3 rocks!

ps: Xbox works fine with chip turned off (and original HD)

My first thought would be checking over the solder points. It sounds like some thing is working its way loose.

Also, does it work fine with the 120gig hard drive and the chip disabled? Can you get to the M$ dashboard?

yep, no problem with that. I'll check the solder points tomorrow and start all over again... the weird thing is that the flashing is ok untill 3/4 of the second part...never seen that before.
