no, but i have some rrod boards i could try it on if you think it could be an issue.. although i don't get how it erases, reads back blank nand, writes ok and then can't read back what it just wrote. and how come even though the whole read gets error 218, the end file almost matches the original? is the southbridge involved in any way when writing nand?

well, i know it's erasing ok because when i read back after erasing i get a file full of FFFF's. also, nandpro doesn't give errors so i'd assume it writes ok, but i get your point. i'll try on a different board and report back.

edit: ok, tested on different board and flasher is working fine. reading, writing, erasing. all is good.

do you mean like a tsop programmer? take the nand off the board, program it in the programmer and put it back?

i managed to find a cheap infectus 2, but the problem is i can't find any install diagrams for slim.. there's no support for this chip, no activity in the last 2-3 years. cygnos isn't much different and progskeet is in its infancy when it comes to support.. i'll try a lpt dump today and maybe soldering to the back of the board. if i get the infectus, can i ask you for help installing it? maybe you have experience with it...

i couldn't get the infectus, so i had another ideea: nand transplant. i figured if it's the spi, the nand would already be programmed and if it's the nand, the new one would work. i had some rrod boards so i flashed the nand on the phat board with trinity bin, then i transplanted the nand to the trinity board and guess what... still no power, still same errors reading nand and i'm still able to erase and write without errors and i get good flashconfig. any ideeas?

Nope - clock it up as another console fit for the bin, purely down to people using their games console for soldering practice. I have personally seen 6 boards go to the trashcan this week alone because they 'thought' that soldering to points 1mm in width could be done with no experience whatsoever.

MS are LOVING the fact there are people out there killing their consoles.
