HITACHI 79 Failed to play 79 unlock CD!

Hi

Decided I should update dash etc in readiness for copying and playing all the XGD3 games my son has now asked me to buy! Found old Hit 79 and thought it would be a sinch as have the key/bin and used this about a year ago to flash the Hit to LT 1.1+.(currently using Benq spoofed as Hit)I hooked up with CK3 connectivity kit etc etc. Unfortunately whatever I do I get the above message when I hit unlock in JF which is preceeded by playing 79 audio unlock CD...

Am using 6421 VIA with drivers uninstalled etc etc. Also have about five versions of JF and tried each one. As usual no probs getting into mode B but then...Followed everything to the letter so this is bugging me big time. Burnt 4 versions of the cue file and none of em work (burn good as shows up when placed in PC DVD Drive).

Last time I had this mother my BP went sky high cos I kept getting RAM execute command failed. I finally got thru that but can't recall how!

Happy to buy xbox360USBPro or Maximus etc but do they also have issues with these drives?

Am beginning to think I (I mean he)won't be able to play GOW3, Driver etc.

The only thing out of the ordinary was that the drive occaisonally seemed to get stuck in mode B when it should have been in mode A but each time I switched the CK3 off it eventually reverted to A. The other thing that has always bugged me is the confusion between the mode A/B switch on the CK3 and that in JF but tried every permutation anyway.

Rant over, apologies for length but wondered if anyone could offer any advice.

Cos I mean everyone and I mean everyone says you have to have original drive in console to update dash.........

yep thats true, and no more spoofing either, i have a hit 79 aswell and they are a pain in the....

any way if there is a lt fw on it than there is no need for the unlock cd.
flash back to stock , update to latest dash and falsh to 1.91

I thought about that. I understood it was better to return to stock using my key/bin as the source and then 79 4c FW in the target and spoof then write (as opposed to just restore using stock in Hit tab)

My intention was to restore to stock, update dash with Hit in console and then return Benq using my key and Benq 2.0 if that makes sense.

times changes my friend, ms can detect different drives thats why i said no spoofing/swapping drives anymore.
you have to stick with the orignal drive, that is ofourse if you want to play xbl.

if you dont care about xbl than you can proceed with your idea

forgot to say , you have to flash back to stock !!

You can no longer spoof drives. In order to be on the latest dash you MUST have the original drive installed. You CAN NOT spoof a BenQ to a Hitachi.

As far as unlock the 79 you are prompted to open the drive and power off the CK3 at that point while you have the drive open and the CK3 off you inster the 79 unlock cd into the xbox drive. When the drive goes into mode B it closes and then you proceed by hitting the 79 unlock key. It then plays the disk and ejects it.

so going from lt 1.1 to stock and than to lt 2.0 on the same hit drive, youre saying you still need the unlock cd?
:confused:

btw i flashed mine hit 79 wich i use as try out tool, from 1.91 back to stock and back to 1.91 without the use of the unlock cd.

Sorry to keep bringing this up but I think my request is very straightforward.

My intention was:
    1. Unlock Hit 79
    2. Use my key/bin in source and 79 stock FW in target (4c)
    3. Spoof to target
    4. Write to drive
    5. Insert Hit in console and update to new dash with USB flash
    6. Flash Benq with LT 2.0 using my key and put that in it’s rightful place back in the drive
    7. Viola
(I don’t use Live so bans don’t concern me)

Unfortunately can’t get the darn unlock CD to work even tho I’ve tried every which way. (nothing wrong with via card as drive is recognised by JF and goes into mode b easy. It's just the unlock CD that won't play)

My question is can I just restore Hit to stock in JF using Hit tab?
If so, will the fact that I’ve not used my original key affect my subsequent ability to use my re-flashed Benq?

try manual not automatic
burn only .cue file and let it spin and when it stops spinning hit unlock that might work

I've tried that but no good. It's obviously the laser that's gone (definitely burned cue file-3 times!!!)

Can I just restore Hit to stock without unlock and then still use Benq as indicated in earlier message?

okay , i took my hit 79 put it in mode b and than dump the file without the unlock cd ( wich ive been saying all the time) went back to stock and than back to cfw 1.91

no problem whatsoever. should work for you too !

Sorry to be a pain. When you say dump the file without the unlock CD ... I already have the key and bin, dummy bin etc etc etc for the Hit. I think I'll just restore to stock FW using the oprtion in the Hit tab in JF and keep my fingers crossed.

I'll update to the new dssh and then reflash my Benq to LT 2.0 using my key and see if that works.

if you put your hit drive in mode b does the drive show up in the top right hand tickbox on the hit tab?
if not than thats the reason why it wont unlock and you wont be able to do anything.
