I know this is probably my first post, but i am far from being a newb but am open to learning something new.
This is my third RGH.
I have already done a Slim and a Jasper with the 360 Multi-builder and haven't had any issues.

I currently have a Falcoln. I was able to inject the ecc, grab my keys, kv, and a flashdmp.
I proceeded to inject freeboot. I utilized the Raw Flash to install freeboot.
I am able to load Xell via eject, but when i just let it load, I just get a solid green light plus i let it sit for 20 minutes.

I tried 13599 and 13604 dashboards with and without dashlaunch. So i went back to orig nand and disabled coolrunner, got xmas tree lights sometimes, red ring other times, and flashing green light with dvd plugged in. Sad as it is, I got this with four nand dumps of the original. I perfer four just in case i got to rebuild.

So I dl a donor nand for the Falcoln and injected the kv.bin. Enabled Coolrunner. Same as above, I got Xell via eject, and black screen with power. At this point I am stumped. I did a 360 flash on all the nands and here's what I have as follows.

If you can flash it back with the original Nand and it doesn't boot, you have other problems. Flash it back with the original Nand and remove All cool runner wiring and it should boot up, if not check for cross bridging on your solder points and maybe a missing resistor, this has happen to people. Just some ideas

OP - in short, you've done something drastically wrong along the lines.

as already stated, if your original dump won't write back without problems you have other issues to hand. Look at your LDV values on all three? they should all have the same LDV value of the highest amount currently on your console. Did you update the console at any time after dumping it?

Boot to XeLL and count the fff's on lines 7 and 8. This is your LDV amount and should match the highest LDV in your dump.

With my four initial dumps, comparison was good between all four. I was able to create a ecc file from the dumps but now 360 flash won't even read them. Basically all i have left is the flashdmp after the ecc. I am able to write them back but I get weird lights after startup.

But moving on, Mickey I will check for cross points if what Martin says checks out.
When I got xell for the first time, I took a picture. Low and behold in line 7 there are 8 'f'. While I do this, verify me if this is correct. I just patch the rebuilt that i made to 8 and then make freeboot?

Try using 360 multi tool to built the dash image and then use xenon.elf to flash it. If xell is running fine I don't think anything else would be off, but checking solder points is always a good idea :)

If you have 8 fff's then your LDV is 8. Just manually edit options.ini in multi_build so the LDV = 8. Hopefully this should sort it.

EDIT: If your LDV is 8, none of your dumps match this. Therefore you MUST have updated your dash through the console at least TWICE since starting this. Massive mistake!

Go get (Sneaky peanuts .... Easy Freeboot 5.32) and make a new freeboot image and see if that will help you coz i had a similar problem and that solved it for me.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I updated the LDV value and it was a no go. So I flashed the rebuilt nand with the right ldv values, and removed everything except the jtag cable. It booted up though it RROD. I get logo for split second and then E74. :eek2:That's a first for water cooled.

Haha. Thanks again. I am moving on to a Zephyr. I got my technique down to two hours. Now if only I could find a Jasper 256 or 512. hehe

Can you confirm that you've been updating the console in between attempts?

Maybe not a good idea to go messing with another console until you know what you did here.

NOT the way to learn.

BTW, cooling solutions mean nothing when it comes to RRoD prevention. I try telling people but they don't listen. No matter how many fans/coolant/etc you have hooked up to your GPU, if the BGA connections are not completely intact, they will oxidize over time and will need reflowed with proper flux.

good luck with the Zephyr, they are bad to do RGH mod on! very inconsistant, although the one I did was fine, and booted every time within around 7 seconds

Yes I can confirm I haven't done any updates. And you are correct, the fat xbox gpu BGA blows no matter what you attach to it. It's a terrible design. But I do admit, water has lasted the longest and the gpu does get hot to cook on. The delta between air vs water is only like 10-15C degree drop.

I have a second falcoln that I just finished modded. I tried the nands from the first falcoln on and they worked okay as long as I changed the LDV value.

Well if you've not updated the console at any time, the fairies must be at it. For your LDV to now be 8 and the previous dump was a lesser number then SOMEONE updated it. It doesn't happen unless you apply an update.

What gets me is how do 4 dumps go bad. haha:crazy: I haven't given up yet. Working on repairing the RROD right now. Also, when I was creating the ecc for the Zephyr, I see a message that says:
* patching SMC...

CRC32: b74ae419
! Warning: can't patch that SMC, here are the current supported versions:
- Trinity, version 3.1
- Jasper, version 2.3
- Zephyr, version 1.10
- Zephyr, version 1.13
- Falcon, version 1.6
Should i be concerned.

Thanks Martin.

I figure out why the donor didn't work for the falcon.
The SMC was the wrong version.
Donor nand is smc ver. 1.6.
Orig bad nand is ver. 2.3.
After I corrected this it boots fine.
Thanks Martin for pointing me in the right direction.
