Hi,

I keep getting a solid green light after flashing nand... No video/error codes/rrod... I have tried just about everything... I have searched and searched the forums to no avail.

Xell is working - I have managed to obtain my CPU key and successfully decrypt Nand in 360 flash dump tool v0.91

Started off with homemade cable then purchased Nand -x

I have dumped my nand twice and total commander verified that they were identical. I checked nand with Degraded to ensure that it was exploitable:

CB Version 5770 LDV 0
CD version 5770
CE version 1888
CF(0) Version 6683 LDV 1
CF(1) Version 7363 LDV 2
Note: Bad Block @ 0x212
Note 0x212 found at 0x3FF

Remapped bad blocks - extracted KV and config using the following:

Nandpro xbr.bin: -r16 block212.bin 212 1
Nandpro xbr.bin: -w16 block212.bin 3ff 1
Nandpro orig.bin: -r16 kv.bin 1 1
Nandpro orig.bin: -r16 config.bin 3de 2
Nandpro xbr.bin: -w16 kv.bin 1 1
Nandpro xbr.bin: -w16 config.bin 3de 2

Also tried using 360 flash Dump tool to extract KV and Bad block remapper no success. Dumped original nand back still solid green light. Removed and resoldered wiring several times -then brought Nand-x.

I have tried just injecting KV into XBR and also tried directly via USB - redumped to verify if identical.

I have been erasing nand in between dumps using

Nandpro usb: -e16 0 400

I have also tried freeBoot using jtag tool and freeBoot toolbox maker. unable to boot Livecd from xell freezes at please wait a moment....

Can someone please help.... It is so frustrating... :(

You don't need to remap blocks in the XBR image. Just inject the KV and Config blocks into the XBR image and flash it to your console.

if your using a hdmi cable try an av cable instead. See if that works
He's already got xell working, so it wouldn't be his display cable ...

Focusing on freeboot as always I do .. First did you verify your CPU key in 360 flashing tool and you can see your key vault values?

If verified, then have you used your original NAND dump to compile a freeboot image and if so do you just get the green light in the centre?

I am using a component cable, I have also tried VGA cable both work with xell. Don't have hdmi tv though.

You don't need to remap blocks in the XBR image. Just inject the KV and Config blocks into the XBR image and flash it to your console.
I have also tried without remapping the bad blocks - only injecting KV and config into xbr.bin -and tried injecting over usb too.

Yes I have verified the CPU key in 360 flash tool I can see all KV values.

I have used original nand to make freeBoot.bin -still has solid green light. Xell works on ejecting DVD drive though?

I've also tried flashing with usb updflash.bin and tried loading linux live cd non have worked.

Sorry but I'm a bit confused here. I know you attempted to remap your XBR image, but did you attempt to remap freeboot after it was created? i.e. use original NAND image and create freeboot.bin then do the following:

nandpro freeboot.bin: -r16 212.bin 212 1

nandpro freeboot.bin: -w16 212.bin 3FF 1

Ummm... I'm pretty sure I've remapped the freeBoot.bin... I'm just going to give it another try to make sure... I've been trying so many different methods...i think i'm beginning to lose track...:(

So i tried remapping bad blocks on freeBoot.bin - still solid green light ....:(

xells still working...?

After flashing freeBoot.bin Nandpro now says:

could not detect a flash controller!:( ??

Things just seem to be going from bad to worse..... I would really appreciate if someone would shed some light on this situation... ??

could not detect flash controller means you either have bad sodering or you screwed up your nand.

This shouldn't be happening because of bad soldering since you could read/write the NAND before. Just do a Power Cycle and try again.

I am just saying if he accidently removed a wire while moving his xbox 360 around, I would do what m azee said and also reboot your pc. That works for me.

I understood what you said. But going right towards a hardware problem while troubleshooting isn't right in my opinion. First, the software side should be checked for any problem, then the hardware should be checked.

I've restarted pc, done a power cycle on xbox even let it sit without power for around 30 min. no look.

I have seen a post in a forum about clearing the nand with some sort of jump wire to bring it back to life...??? I couldnt actually find any instructions on how to do this...

yah you put your nand into recovery mode by shorting out pins 44-47. Double check your sodering before you go about in doing this though.

Another one of those 'Can't detect flash controller' after few NAND writes and reads eh!!!!

Do me a favor and use a multimeter to test for continuity between ground and all points on J1D2, there should be no reading except for one point (yellow wire) and let me know what you find.

I've been away from this for a few days... but now I'm back and determined to get it fixed. :D

There is only continuity between yellow J1D2 and ground as you quite rightly predicted. The multimeter does show a reading for the other points but does not beep to indicate continuity.
