RGH Falcon 5771 - stuck, unable to boot Xell.

Hi. Apologies first of all for my cringeworthy username, I don't know what was going through my mind when I made it back in 2005! I tried to join but couldn't due to server load, and it turned out I had this account from way back when.

Anyway, me and a friend have been working on his Falcon this afternoon. So far we have:

- Installed Coolrunner, NANDX QSBs.
- Flashed Falcon timings to Coolrunner board.
- Successfully dumped NAND after issues with soldering. Was getting USB interface issues when trying to dump, but as suggested by Ubergeek, it was a soldering thing.
- Compared NANDs in XNanDHealer, all matched.
- Processed NAND with ECC Glitch Generator.

No joy, then we discovered that CB 5771 could not be exploited.

Then I discovered 360 Multi Builder, which as I understand it should be able to patch the NAND so it is bootable to Xell. I have run the NAND through Multi Builder and flashed to XNAND. I have no CPU Key yet as I understand we can only get that once we boot Xell.

This is where we're currently at and we do not appear to be booting. Getting no green light on Coolrunner. Was running via VGA to a PC monitor and suspected that may be an issue, so no running through basic component cable to TV (the new kind with only yellow video, plus red/white audios.)

We are a bit stuck now and have been searching for answers for a while now, but it's hard to separate the information relevant to a particular box and I can't see what it is that has gone wrong at this point.

Any help would be appreciated!

Falcon CB 5771 should glitch just fine. Can you post images of your soldering please?

How did you program the CoolRunner?

How did you build the ECC image?
We programmed the CoolRunner using the method in CarolinaGuy's youtube video and built the ECC image using ECC Glitch Generator.

Just taking some pics of the soldering now and will up them within the next few minutes.

Should it work via the VGA by the way? Or should we only be attempting to boot on the TV via component?

It sounds very much like your wiring is the issue if the CoolRunner is programmed correctly and you wrote a good ECC to your NAND.

VGA should work just fine, XeLL Reloaded works with any inputs.... including HDMI.

We only have camera phones here at the moment and I'm having serious trouble getting clear pictures. Tried to take a video, but same problem!!!

Have you checked each point with a Multimeter?
No, that's something that would have to be done tomorrow as I don't have one personally. My friend has one at home though.

These vids are about the best I can do right now:

Use multibuilder v0.2 if v0.3 is not working to boot xell

Now that I think about it I think there's a fix for v0.3 search for it

My mate brought his falcon to me this morning after he fitted his coolrunner, it would not glitch with hdmi cable plugged in but glitches and works fine via the component cable. Am going to whip the coolrunner out to see if console boots with hdmi later (mostly likely tomrrow now as i have had a few).

Anyway that's me rampling on just try with a component cable if you can.

The 'image_0000000.ecc' file is only 1.3MB btw, is this correct? I'm flashing this file, with that filename, back to the console using the command 'nandpro usb: +w16 image_00000000.ecc'

Looks like it's too late. My mate was checking out his soldering and somehow managed to pull out everything at the contact for the green wire, looks like this board is useless now! :(
