RGH Falcon CB 5773 will glitch with ECC not with hacked img

So another CB 5773 Falcon thread, I've read trough quite some other threads about the problematic Falcons but I haven't found one with specifically my problem.

I soldered my CR Rev C and flashed the ECC images, I use the normal blue wire and ran it under the mobo and over the fan's, I tried using just the blue wire and added 1k Ohm / 470pF and 3.3k Ohm / 470pF resistors / capacitors. Also tried all 5 CR xsvf's (A, B, C, D, Falcon).

All variations gave me the same bad boot times when trying to boot Xell with the ECC IMAGE, but at least it boots and gliches fine (green led every 6 sec or so).

As I got into Xell a few times I decided to flash the hacked image and tweak from there on. However as soon as the hacked image is flashed the CR no longer blinks / flashes to it seems that it's not glitching at all. I again tried all xsfv files and different resistor / capacitors.

I flashed back the orig NAND and put the CR on PGR and it boots fine. Flashed the ECC image over the orig NAND and it gliches fine and boots to Xell again (however slowly).

How is it possible that the CR gliches every 6 sec with the ECC image but not the hacked image? Is there something specific I can / should try?

I used JRunner for the entire process.

Thanks!

I've seen this on other Falcon consoles and TBH I don't know what the answer is. Can you test something first?

Fire into XeLL and boot into XMPlayer (media player which runs from xell). Let me know if it crashes.

Tried it and it seems to crash, does this tell you anything? This is what I see after letting it sit for a while:

Yeah, that screen should be up for about a fraction of a second then move on.

Unfortunately I don't know what the fix is.

Keep the CPU key safe, flash back to stock and use it as a stock console for now. Provided you have the CPU key you'll be able to RGH it. Once this gets fixed, it can be revisited then.

Something else is strange about this box too btw, the OSIG in the original NAND is " PLDS DG-16D2S 7485" while it's on dashboard 14719 and the drive is on 0251 firmware too.

But I've seen this before, not sure how it can happen though.

Oh and thanks for you support, will keep the CPU key safe and glitch at a later time, will keep an eye on the news to see if this gets fixed.

OSIG never changes, just the DVD firmware. Confuses a lot of people for whatever reason.

Didn't knew that, thanks for clearing that up! I must have gotten confused because it's possible to spoof the OSIG in the NAND to 0251 with J-Runner.

Because MS stopped using OSIG to detect drives, so most people expect to see their drive model in there :)

Sorry I had to revive this thread but I got the same problem as jant90...

I have a Falcon RGH2 with a Coolrunner Rev C, C8 cap removed and boots after 5 minutes or less, I couldnt find anything on the threads so Im posting here.

Maybe Martin C or someone else knows a fix for this problem after 2 years, I will appreciate it. The xbox boots to xell but somekind of slow, when writing my prepared dash I only get the Xbox logo and just once I got it to boot to dash but froze after a minute, I tested with shielded wire, keynar wire of several sizes, different routing and nothing.

My customer gave me this console with latest dash (16767) I wrote my image as usual with jrunner and the process as usual.

Any advice so everyone can get a solution with this stubborn falcons :)

I think this is a different problem then the one described in the op, as your glitches to the dash. try edit powermode and power vcs settings in the smc config. this should stop it from freezing at boot logo, or dash. As for boot times, you need to tweak your wire routing/ length until you find the best settings.
