Hello.

I am in a bit of a trouble here.

I went out and bought me xbox 360, it was from local electronic shop, it was brand new, it was falcon motherboard, from 2007

Took to my friends house and we started messing with it.

JTAg installation went like this:

We checked that its exploitable 2.0.6770.0 dashboard.
I played Lips game for a while to see it works ok. No dashupdates there or anything.

We wired the motherboard, used diodes and resistors.
We soldered off that R6 resistor.
We read NAND 3 times, 2 matched 3rd had some differences.
We used one those 2 matching bins to create xbr image.
We flashed the nand with xbr, power off for 30 seconds, maybe for a few minutes cause we moved it into livingroom to test.

On 1st tun, the box does not reboot from power button, it gives E74 error on screen and blinks 1 redlight saying video cable error.
We have video cable on ok, but it still gives that error.

Console reboots into xell when started up from eject button.
Xell shows fuses ok, and we got cpu key from there.

So, we tryed to flash original.bin into nand, but it gives the same E74 erorr!

Then, tryed to create freeboot image from one of those 2 originals, same thing, E74 but xell starts.

Then i noticed, the LDV values from original and xbr/freeboot are different when i look from xbox 360 flashtool.

Here is the picture of it, the upper is the original bin extracted from the nand and below is the xbr image i created.

So could you help me out here?
Im in real trouble here, i bought this with my savings to my 14 and 11 year old kids, and now ive f**ked it up.

Thank you for any help.

First off, why did you flash XBR as opposed to FreeBOOT and secondly, what is the secondary error code on the console when you see E74?

Im not sure about secondary error code, i gotta ask him, since the box is at his house at the moment.
of xbr, he said its old but should work on all, so we flashed that 1st.

It keeps blinking the lower right corner light and says E74 on screen.

I´ll call him and ask whats the secondary error code.
(It was checked by pressing eject+sync i recon)

It usually so happens that if an E74 is on the way, it may continue to work for a while. But if an E74 is near to happening, but hasn't happened yet, handling the motherboard i.e. unscrewing it from the metal case and soldering on it may cause an E74 immidiately...Which is what happened with you. Sorry.

And yes, XeLL will continue to work while an actual E74 is present.

Just get it reflowed.

Yes, 360 (pre-Jasper) consoles are this unreliable. Even the action of removing the board from the chassis can disturb the GPU enough.

Next time, before opening hold the 360 horizontally and drop onto a firm surface from about 2 inches. If there's anything dodgy in there, you'll probably know at this point. At least if it goes after doing this, you'll still be in warranty etc.

OK, is there anyone in EU area that does reflows?

I could send in the board someone who does these and ofcourse pay for the reflow.

Naturally it has to be someone whos reliable so i know i get my board back :)
