JTAG Falcon E79 - Transistor Wiring - HELP

Troll Eating Dogs
Got a sealed and working Falcon with 6 series dash on it. Read the nand 6 times, only had one bad block, nothing major, all 6 nands are identical.

Updated to 7371, dumped 6 times, bad block, all 6 are identical dumps.

Did the Transistor method, have done is on another Falcon and on a Zypher, no issues, however this Falcon is throwing E79 when trying to get into Xellous. I tried just Xell, but only after writing Xellous, so I am going to do a re-flash with stock and try Xell again, however I don't know if that will work.

If anyone has any ides, would appreciate it. I don't think it's wiring, I re-did the wiring after first E79 with parts from a different batch order, just to make sure :)

Thanks in advance for the help.

You don't need to flash the original NAND in order to flash xell, just write xell straight way over xellous and test it.

If you are using alternate points and it isn't working then you should try the original points and vise versa. Also what is the bad block? If it's within the first 50 blocks then it will need to be manually remapped using nandpro.

I got this a couple of times doing the transistor wiring using db1f1. If I did air_clamp, and dvd tray, it worked every time. Including the falcon you and I talked about.

Bad block was @ 250 that's why I said no big deal, but I don't know much about that stuff, I just know that 250 isn't a big deal.

I am going to try the original DB1F1 after I write Xell.

If none of the above suggestions yield anything, give me your resistance readings for J2D2.1 and J2D2.2.
How do I test resistance with a multimeter for this particular situation, I am using the 10k ohm resistors so what setting on the multimeter would I use?

Just put the neg end on ground and the pos end on the solder point itself (where the Transistor leg goes).

You should get 1.5k on both points.

Got 1.55 on both, so that checks out. Tried original DB1F1, no luck with Xell, going to try Xellous. (EDIT: Xellous no good either, what's going on! I am worried now! Arg!)

Using JTAG Tool 3.13 FYI

"I hate the DVD eject crap"

use AUD_CLAMP and DVD_TRAY then use the no-dvd option in jtag tool and all should be good no tray ejecting.

edit: my falcon has ejected tray once or twice but it will load dash not xell with no dvd option

I have TRAY_OPEN on my jasper jtag and the dvd rom never opens. Using transistor method. AUD_CLAMP + Open_Tray.

btw: try to Write Xell with nandpro not Jtag tool.

What is open tray, do you mean the DVD_TRAY connection point? Explain more please.

I got Xell written on there with JTAG Tool, it wouldn't take Xellous. I am writing FB now, see how it goes, but I will be playing with it more, id like the transistor method on there if I can get it to work somehow.

FYI, I got E71 with Xellous.

ADDED: OK confirmed FB working. I really want to get the Transistor method working, so I am not going to give up yet and keep the AUD/DVD on there just yet. I think I am going to try to write Xellous with nandpro however I have never done it before, will look for a tut but do you have any suggestions or??

After searching around I found the ROL JTAG Wiring, totally forgot about it. Hot wired it off the the AUD/DVD and wouldnt you know, it works AND Xellous works. However Xellous does not show the DVD Key and when trying to download the KeyVault and Raw Config it says internal server error.

On the TV screen it says SFCX: Bad block found at 00000296

This happened on a Zypher I had, would not display DVD key but it did let me download the configs and threw no errors. Any ideas?

Did you use transistors wired to aud_clamp and dvd tray, or wire and diode run to your points? I use transitors myself. Though I haven't tried running to ring of lights yet.
