Hey guys what's up? I have a phat that bought from good will. It was overheating so opened it up to clean it and Trouble shoot the problem. Everything works perfect on it but the fan I tried 3 other fans on it but none worked so I tested the plug voltage and both outside prongs read around 12v. After that I pulled the mother board and checked the fan resister expecting it to be bridged but it wasn't. Im lost after this. Should I replace the resister or will that do any good. Any help would be appreciated. Thnx

you could always solder the fan's wires directly to the motherboard:

I was considering that Johnny but I don't want a noisy fan. I traced the line on the board to Q8N1 and the resister looks like it has heat damage it is a BCP51 whicIhave but would have to harvest from an rgh that is down right now but I also have that resister from a Jasper bb but it is a ZT75 does anyone know if these are compatible with each other. I was researching the specs when I saw your reply to my post. Thanks

its quite possible the mofsets at the fan header are blown, you can short two legs of them to do a 12v mod, then install a variable resistor to rturn down the voltage/speed to your liking.
