I got given this tonight, Took it apart to clean it and lo and behold there was a warranty seal still in place - never opened before.

Not sure what to do with it really... the fans make it sound like its gonna take off and much louder than the slims so im really unsure what to do with it

it should take a cr4 on rgh ? is it a bad idea to update the dash

If you can get a hold of a genuine coolrunner then I would just RGH it as it is almost guaranteed to be instaboot.. you could also update and put in a CR4 and get pretty much same result.. choice is your my friend

For the fan issue, I would clean out the fans and heat syncs, and replace the thermal compound on the chips.
