R-JTAG Falcon powers on but nothing else.

NAND size: 16 I think
Dashboard version: 2.0.17349
CB version: 5770
Description of Problem:
System doesn't boot into Xell to obtain CPU key in order to proceed with the next stage of creating the XeBuild Image and writing to NAND.
Console starts up with only the middle green light flashing. CR4 green debug lights every 4-5 seconds although I did see it flash about 15 times but only happened the once.
No errors seem to appear with reading/writing using J-Runner.
Checked continuity of R-JTAG QSB ok.
Was the console working before you started: Y

I've re-soldered all the points which lead to some extra repair work required by replacing the 33ohm resistor. I'm now at a loose end of what I can do now if anything so I'm now seeking help from the TX experts!
I'm a noob in the X360 scene but not with TX products. My nephew is still using my original xbox and X3 with X3 Control Panel :smile:

I'm having trouble upload images at the mo. ALL images I have to upload mount up to just under 1MB. The warning I get is: 500 [IOErrorEvent type = "ioError " bubbles=false cancelable=false eventPhase=2 text="Error #2038"]

I'm trying but I can't get it to work. The file sizes range from 46Kb to 248Kb totalling 974Kb. Under the 1Mb limit so I don't know what I doing wrong. :confused:

Just upload the pics to tinypic and then post them here. Are you using AUD_Clamp? Are the wires cut to size?

Are u using jrprogrammer? Do u have access to Rater? Please upload jrunner log. Have u tried all dip combos? Double check continuity in your jtag signal lines. It looks pretty messed up, I would remove the jtag qsb and do a wire install on the topside.

Taijigamer2: Yes I am using J-R Programmer v2. Sorry I'm not aware of what Rater is all about, I'll need to research on that. The jrunner log doesn't show much, I'll paste it below though . I've only tried switch dip 7 and then 3 & 7 together. Checking the continuity using http://team-xecuter.com/forums/threads/148097-R-JTAG-Troubleshooting-once-past-POST-0x2E I get the following from left to right of QSB:
1st diode = 5.85
2nd diode = 3.40 (Meter set to 20K for diode readings)
Continuity between pairs of colour circles are ok however I get 1.5Kohms across 1st orange circle & 1st blue circle. 1.85Kohms across 1st orange circle & 2nd blue circle. I also get the same readings but from 1st green circle to the 1st & 2nd blue circle.
There is also 1.5Kohms from 1st blue circle to 2nd orange and from 1st blue circle to 2nd green circle.
J2D2.1 = 1.5 kohms
J2D2.2 = 1.5 Kohms

If u have a Jr-programmer, I would recommend using Rater when testing console. It gives a much better picture of what's going on. Please post results. U need to try all the dip combos for Rjtag+ and all post bit settings. If u successfully get it to glitch but get E79 (1033) then U'r Jtag Qsb/Wiring is to blame.

If you are getting continuity between different colour circles then u have unwanted connections. I would take the Jtag qsb off and check the board/ tidy up, then either get another Qsb or resort to a wire install using old school jtag wiring (using Q2N1 for AUD_Clamp).

I'll remove the QSB and have a closer look then decide whether to replace with another or go with the wire install route. I'll update as soon as I can

Your Rjtag+ sequence looks like it is getting past the glitch point successfully but failing at the jtag point. Remove the qsb, tidy up and then go from there but I wouldn't use that qsb again. Good luck.

Ok so I've finally got round to installing rjtag wire install method as the qsb is totally screwed.
still getting the same results as before.
was given another console with a falcon board so tried again with that one. Guess what.....exactly the same behavior.
is it possible that the cr4 could be at fault?

Postout log is different. Have u tried all dip combos and post bit settings? Check postout soldering and cpu_rst length/ soldering.

I've tried a few combinations. Is there a list somewhere with all the combinations? I've see reference to a load of dip settings but that seem to be for RGH+.
Does the cpu-rst length have to be a specific length or just short as possible?

soldering looks ok. Why is pll bypass soldered to the resistor on CR4? I can't see a picture of stby_clk point. Just make cpu_rst as short as comfortably possible. I usually mount the chip on the av port shield. Falcon is dip 7 on all others off. Then try each dip 1-6 one at a time. Also play with postbit jumpers. Use Rater, it's easier to log your progress. Good luck.

the pad on the CR4 shows signs of movement so before it breaks off I thought I'd solder to the resistor.
I'll update the link with the extra picture of the stby_clk point. It's another bad moment where the track got screwed and replaced the section with another resistor.
looks like I've got another challenge now as jrunner is displaying the error 'wrong version' now :-(
