Thank you both Martin and Joe for being available for assistance.

Ok - can you try building a JTAG image from your stock NAND - do NOT select R-JTAG.
I will do it for test purposes in about 8 hrs from now as soon I get back to the console. I can perform whatever testing needed.

Its not an issue with the nand. The issue is being investigated.
I can provide this console to the Team for test purposes if needed with both R-JTAG and DemoN installed in it to ease the work. I can swap this one for Jasper and give it to customer (hopefully it won't end up with the same issue) :p

Well, to be honest not every voltage settings. I started with no voltage settings and was not sattisfied with the RATER result. So I used 1.2V settings and got almost perfectly booting console after some tweaking (i.e. DIP settings). I finished at this point.

Together with an Jtag image as per Martin's suggestion I will also try to set 1.8V and see if it eliminates the RRoD.

So I built an JTAG image (no AUD_CLAMP selected) from stock NAND and wrote into DemoN NAND. As expected the console won't boot from DemoN NAND (RRoD - bottom right LED) after some cycles, neither from stock NAND (RROD 0020). As same with R-JTAG image in DemoN NAND, the green debug LED on R-JTAG board doesn't even try to blink prior to boot from X360 NAND.

The problem persists if either JTAG/R-JTAG image is in DemoN NAND, with stock/RGH2 image it is working with no problem.

Just to be sure. You have tried all 3 voltage settings, correct?
Just tried with every voltage settings (NO VOLTAGE/1.2V/1.8V) with the same result - RRoD 0020 when trying to boot from X360 NAND.

I assume that various DIP settings doesn't affect anything in this case.

I have done another R-JTAG with DemoN setup, this time on Jasper [HERE].

I haven't encountered with such issue like on Falcon described here.

May I kindly ask for another advice what else to try or does it look like some console specific issue and should I uninstall DemoN from this Falcon and leave R-JTAG only?

Thanks Martin for response. Should I try this even though the console is (was) working with no problem with absence of R-JTAG image on DemoN NAND?

I might find someone who does reflow/reball services. Honestly I thought it could have been something on SW side :(

EDIT: Btw leave the console "as is" i.e. switching to X360 NAND using front panel DemoN button while powered ON from DemoN NAND is not safe and thus not recommended, correct?

It isnt recommended, but i can say that my girlfriends kid has hit this button more than once while i was playing before and the system is still working perfectly.

Thanks Joe for your comment.

I understand that such things ain't easy to reveal and that finding out what causing this issue may take a while, if ever. However is there any hope or positive signs that this could have a solution anytime soon?

I don't want in any way to push you or the whole team forward, moreover though it's probably an issue related to minority of consoles, but I need to decide what should I do with this customer's console. Either swap this for my own Jasper and keep this Falcon for later use (in case that a solution may exist) or give up, remove the DemoN and tell the customer that R-JTAG w/DemoN wouldn't work on his console at the moment.

On a side note it still does apply that I can donate this Falcon to the Team for test purposes if it could help somehow.

Does he do it accidentally or because the console also causing the issue described in OP?

Connecting to Live works as well with no problem?

Remember that consoles are QA'd from the factory for retail purposes. Southbridge functions used in modding are not retail. Therefore it still falls in the constraints of it being a component issue.

More because he is young, and thinks it is entertaining to hit all the buttons on all the electronics in the entertainment center. I believe i was one of the first people to have this problem though with a different console.

Just to note on this thread..

I have done a Falcon tonight (R-JTag & Demon)

Demon boots freeboot, Stock just hangs on green light (no Boot), Disable 5v on R-JTag and flash stock to demon (Both nands boot)

Put freeboot back on demon and leave 5v off R-Jtag (Stock hangs like before)

Tried all 3 power settings and same thing. Demon doesnt power the console down when you press the demon daughter board either. (Demon updated to 1.04 fw before I installed it as per normal)

Could this be a demon firmware issue I wonder?

This isn't even remotely like the OP's issue. Can you post pics of your install in a new thread?

Thought it was simular as it was failing on stock boot and ran through the process of rgh2 on the demon side and stock booted.. (did neglect to mention that point)

Well your right Martin, It wasnt like the ops afterall (Even though it seemed to be simular)

After much needed sleep and a clear head this morning I found the problem.

2 wires were crossed on the demon tx and SBR were on the wrong points
