Ok i got a falcon that i was attempting to install the coolrunner to and everything was going fine. got the nan-x connected and everything. flashed glitch board with jtag tool and then disconnected the coolrunner from nand-x. connected the nand-x the the qsb's and when to go plug the psu the the xbox and got three red lights with a secondary code of 0021 . so i checked my soldering job and retried and then heard something start to sizzle. so i unplugged it real quick and checked my solder 3 times and tried again. samething. At this point i started searching for solder that might of rolled somewhere that it wasnt suppose to go. Tried it Again and now the power supply light turns red when i plug it in to the xbox. tried 2 other ones that i have. so i started to desolder one wire at a time to see which one it might be causing my problem. no good. so i started to desoldered the qsb's one at a time it didnt do any good.aND THEN i notice the the pad by R4B24 looked kinda like it was lifting so i fix it by adding wire to the trace. But to no avail ist still doing the samething.been working on it for 2 days now and im at my wits end. any suggestions and help would be greatly appreciated to bring this xbox back to life please.

You will get asked the usual question, pictures of all suspected points?

The "sizzle" sound is what I would be most concerned about. You most likely fried something but it will be very hard to find out what. Plug it in again and feel around with your fingers and see it you can tell what is getting hot if anything.

Are you sure this is a good idea? :rolleyes2:

Red light means there is a power problem somewhere. Most likely a short somewhere.

The damage is already done, hints the sizzling sound, and by the sound of it, he has had it plugged in multiple times since then. :D

i'd say this is where it gone wrong " connected the nand-x the the qsb's and when to go plug the psu the the xbox and got three red lights with a secondary code of 0021 " turning xbox on with connected nand-x is rather bad idea.

May be a bad idea but I doubt that what caused the issue. It sounds as if there was a short due to soldering.

Error 0021 said:
This error is caused by a bridged solder joint under GPU or Southbridge. It can also be power related(the Southbridge isnt getting enough power). Can also be a component that is missing or damaged so look for missing and bridged parts(caps etc) near the Southbridge

Was R4B6 and R4B24 bridged at all before you added the wire fix? It looks like R4B4 has some excess solder on it which would indicate that they were bridged.

Something had/has to be bridged causing this error. Check the board very closely for any solder splashes of wire bits that might be shorting something.

Again, this is a power problem. The problem didn't exist before you started so logic says it was something you did. It's hard to tell be the pics you posted. Everything looks good but there is something somewhere but I'm afraid it might not be a visible problem at this point. A sizzle is never a good sound when it comes to electronics.

Yes, the sizzle sucks. I would look for solder splashes all over the board with a big magnifying glass (I hope you use one when you solder). Could be just a small drop of solder stuck between 2 components that caused the sizzle. If you get a sizzle you have probably now have caused an open in the circuitry someware and/or destroyed some components. Look for discoloration of the coating on the board. It could be far away from your solder points. If you find it test the components and replace the bad ones. May need jumper wires to fix an open in the circuitry. Good luck.

think i might of figured out my problem. the mosfet u5b2 .checked the resistance to 5vsb and got nothing. checked u5b1 and got resistance. now i got to find what caused that problem unless the mosfet is what fried then i need to find out what fried it.

---------- Post added at 01:07 ---------- Previous post was at 01:06 ----------

the mosfets are in the area where i heard the sizzle from.

lf. Just saying. No offense
