hello everyone..

was in the process of doing an R-JTAG for a client and after finishing with rater, I tried to boot the console using the RF module but it wouldn't turn on.

if I put my thumb over the pins where the RF module connector attaches to the board, the console would turn on and just sit at the boot animation (does not freeze).. tried few other RF modules and same thing

flashed stock nand to see if that would work but same issue.

I decided to start from begining so I took R-JTAG and all qsb's off and returned the console to full stock and tested .. same issue

did some searching and found http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php/137220-console-only-boots-when-rf-module-is-removed

tried turning console on without RF module and it boots just fine.

inspected the board for any solder splash or bridging and also inspected R2P12 and R2P13.

those resistors should be 10k but I got reading of 2.3k on both .. removed them and put 2 salvaged 10k resistors and same thing.. wont start using RF module and reading still shows 2.3k

took the resistors off and tested them and they both read as 10k

had a bunch of 0805 smd resistors so i wired a couple of them in there but they still read at 2.3k once installed..

can anyone help ??

these are the only pics I have as everything was working fine so I had not taken pics of everything

What happens if you measure resistance across the r2p12 points with no resistor installed? I never mess with that anyways aud_clamp for me all the way

i never measured that resistor in circuit but it could be why the readings are off

first off, I've edited my original post, the reading I was getting was 2.3K and not 2.6K

without the resistors, there is appx. 2.5k resistance.. seems like I'm reading board resistance and the resistor is not even registering

I never mess with that anyways aud_clamp for me all the way
I always start with normal and end up with aud_clamp whenever I do an install.. probably a good idea to just start with aud_clamp and avoid the resistor :p

Maybe post a closeup pic of the area now since u removed the qsb and resistors? And then another pic of ur repair

I don't even bother with that point. I just snip off the corner of the QSB. There's no reason to use anything other than AUD_CLAMP and it solves issues like this.

my appolagies if I didn't make it clear in my original post .. i had finished the installed using aud_clamp and had gone through rater and was getting very good results.. after I had put the console back together I noticed the problem.

I did some reading and I learned that the connection to R2P12 was not needed for aud_clamp so I de-soldered it during my repair attemp.. but it didn't fix the issue.. I have removed everything and console is running stock.. wanna fix the issue then re-install R-JTAG

the rest of the info is in the op

fixed :) .. checked continuity from R2P12 to pin 6 of RF module connector.. continuity was good.. tried a few different 10Kohm resistors and the last pair worked..

this thread can now be closed

Got same Problem here, but cant find the right Resistors. Can you give me some Informations about the Resistors you used ? I changed followed the 2 Solder Points from R2P12 one Leg of the Resistor goes into 2 Directions, coming from 6th Pin RF Module into a Hole trough the Board. I used a normal Resistor with 10k Ohm but it dont boot up. I didnt touch R2P13 but iam measuring only 5k ohm on it. What should i do ? Didnt wanted to open new Thread cause you could fix it, and i habe the same Problem. DId the 2 Resisors at the end gave you 10 k Ohm after you Soldered them into Place ?

Hello
I had the same problem.
I fixed it added a 10k resistor
RF modules work :)
but when I turn off xboxa switches itself on, anyone knows how to fix this.
