Hi all!

Im about to get a few Falcons from a stubborn "solder"!
What i know right away is that R8C2s are simply gone!!!! By gone i mean ripped off the board... trace included!!!!

Quick question... is there a way to make them live again or dont even need to bother?

Im just trying to make some time (this is why theres no pics) before getting them... but from what i heard it was like he had the CPU_RST over the fan & while trying to disassemble (dont really get why!) it came off...

Any hints?

Thanks in advance

Post an image showing the damage.

The alternate point posted by Martin C bypasses that resistor, so it isn't necessarily required for the console to function.

What if theres no resistor at all... not even the trace???

Would it boot if i try the one on downside? Or the old rgh point?

If the fault is the same on each board, you should post a photo of the damage.
l

Yeah i know... and they will follow... im just trying to see what i can do..

Lets say both transistor pads are gonne & that the trace to the cpu also... is there a way?

So here are the belloved photos!!!! :D

Marked blue are the points missing or where the trace begins!
Ive realised that he used the same configs for all (1.2v, DIP 7&3, AUD CLAMP and top CPURST)

What amazes even more is that the actual soldering isnt bad!... lol

Any hints on what to do? (it seems that using just the bottom CPURST brings only 0010 on all combos using 1.2 or 1.8v)

Sounds like you need to fix the damage. Just bridge the points of R8C2 with single wire. Then solder cpu_rst to J8C1.2 if using topside or solder to original bottomside point. Good luck.

Edit:

Forgot to say, probably best to return them to stock and make sure they boot first as u dont know what else this guy has managed to botch up. :rolleyes2:

I would personally jump a piece of wire from the CPU-side trace to the top CPU_RST point and then solder a wire from pad D on the R-JTAG PCB to the CPU_RST point underneath the motherboard.

You could also solder a wire from pad D on the R-JTAG PCB directly to the CPU-side trace, but I wouldn't recommend that.
