i found that one of the several installations i have done made the fan spin very fast and the console closing down due to bad ventelation

i would suggest if your solder is good you can place something over the points as they may be making this ,

also post pics of your solder before better

I guess we all have a tendancy to pull out motherboard by grapping heatsink. Bad idea! Sealing between processor and sink breaks thus making the fans go faster.

This is a good point. I used to but realised not the best idea! I turn the chassis upside-down and give it a tap. The board releases without touching the heatsink.

Yeah stock cooling paste is perhaps not the best of quality, it does become very dry. I noticed that on SLIM consoles cooling paste seams to have a higher quality. Maybe Microsoft has leant a lesson;)

actually found that if you leave the paste on the chips when the GPU is being reflowed, at about 60-70 degrees it becomes a lot more liquid :)

back on topic...

Yeah this is the 16mb jasper... I bridged that point. and now fans ROARRRING... lol.... almost as loud as a vacuum cleaner.

What is the part i might have a go at replacing it if i can get a replacement.

Console glitches mighty fine by thy, it takes from 1 to 3 restarts on average... It is great. Cept the fans.
