Hi

I've a fat xbox falcon that did the RGH few months ago.
My intent was play from a external device , since my console only have a 20GB HDD
But when i play from a external device (pendrive or hdd) , my console got a lot of fatal crashs.
The same backups play normal from the internal hdd.
I tested lot o devices and all usb ports. Tweaked the launch ini for the hdd live comand too.

Any ideas? This can be a hardware problem or any mistake in the Glitch process?

dont quote me on this, but it sounds like a bad USB controller to me, which is included in the southbridge. I could be completly wrong though.

This could be a number of things..but in my experience its from a dirty hdd..xbox is a stuborn **** at times.. I had me a hdd that did the same thing on multiple xbox's..was your drice once hooked to a pc and had a lot of stuff written to it and so on? Mine was so I went to the maker of the drives website and fot ther hdd tools and did a low level format on the drive. It writes zero's to the entire drice likes its never been used and the fatal crashes went away..hope this helps

Tried using the tool e format , still got fatal crash.
Some games are worse , like fifa where a cant even finish a game without a fatal crash, others play 20-30 min before happen.
Dont know if matter but a use a wired controler.

U.K.
Can't you just get a bigger internal drive? Or maybe take the drive out the usb case and use that if its a sata drive?

First , thanks for the answers.

What type of hdd is it? Run it through something like Hdd Sentinel to see if it is about to fail or if you have bad sectors.
I did the tests in a sony 500GB hdd and a corsair 32Gb pen drive. Both are brand new and got the same problems of crash in games. Will try the hdd sentinel when get home.

So this is problably a hardware problem in my xbox or can be a RGH problem?
Change the internal and configure is easy for glitched consoles?

Its easy to find slim hdd then fat hdd or western hdd, can i just switch the case and use the slim hdd?
Can i just copy the content from my hdd and put in the other ?

Yes u can copy the content from 1 hdd to another, Microshaft actually made a device just for this, that you can get at your local walmart for $20. You could also just plug it into the computer and use horizon to extract all the content, then upload it to the new HDD. Just install the new hdd in the 360 phat caddy, format it with the xbox, and then you can copy the data. If you use it as a usb device first, it will only format a 32gb portion for this stuff.

And the slim hdd? Will work?

an xbox hdd is an xbox hdd. if it is flashed with the right firmware, then it will work in any retail xbox. With a RGH/JTAG, it can be any stock hdd you get at your local hdd retailer(Personally prefer WD myself.) So yes a slim hdd will work on a phat xbox, and a phat hdd will work on a slim xbox.
