faulty cr4xl batch or fakes ? help TX

so last year i bought over 20 cr4xl when they were first launched and i fitted them all and kept 1 in my tool box

I bought 3 from a VIP forum member on here 2 - 3 weeks who is advertising these for sale on the forum, they arrived approx 2 weeks ago

I went to fit 1 today to a trinity and it didnt gitch - i checked my wiring, redid it all, redid all the jrunner stuff and it still would not glitch
i even went through every dip switch combo i could. I tried the other chips i bought from this guy and none would glitch at all


i then refitted the cr4 i bought last year and boom , it glitched first time.

would someone like to look at these and to confirm that these are genuine or was there ever a faulty batch that tx know of ?

looking closely at the chips there are some subtle differences but lets see who can spot what, maybe different batches had differences but i dunno

i have spoke to the guy selling these and he advised me to get a pro installer to check them , so as there are none locally i would like a member of tx to take a chip or all 3 of these and have a look to see if im an idiot, if they are a bad batch or possibly fakes.
These were apparently bought from xconsoles , so im really at a loss , although i just have the sellers word on that

i noticed cr4's are for sale on aliexpress and it doesnt exactly fill me with confidence esp when i was asked to pay via paypal gift.

I have one here and it looks exactly like the right one, it works great, I don't think CR4 clones have the big IC, the source code is private.

Bought it from XConsoles on black friday, the new batch after that.

the one on the left is what I have and I got mine fron vgc repairs 3 months ago 25 chips/ the one on right is funky looking I don't believe tx switch for slim and phat looks like that il wait for oggy and jsinger or tx say something about it

@ins0mniac: I do appreciate that you haven't mentioned any names despite fact that you might be upset at the moment. However my goal is the same as your - i.e. get this thing solved, so it would be fair to reveal that the said chips you bought off me and at the moment I have no reason not to believe that we are talking about exactly these chips.

I swear that the chips I sell here originate from Xconsoles and I do believe that I have a good proof for my allegation if needed.

The fact that you are saying that 3 out of 3 CR4 XL chips are faulty is strange. It is even stranger when other user from here also from UK, who recently bought 2 chips off me saying, that one of them seems to be faulty. You both are saying that initially you tried to install them on Trinity and after many tries without success you either tried it in another console also without success or picked up a spare CR4 laid in your drawer that was bought from different place and with it the console is working.

To be honest I never faced faulty CR4 XL until now and I can say that I either installed them or sold them hundreds. Most of my customers are located in my country and as of now I haven't heard about such issue from none of them.

Because I still have around 40 CR4 from the same batch in stock, new and unused, I would really like to shed some light on this, same as you, because something strange is happening here it seems.

On top of that - you mentioned the way of payment that you were asked for. You probably know of why we did it as we did because you probably read or heard about many suspended PP accounts. The fact you paid as a "gift" does not mean that you were left in the dust. I'm not a scammer, I never, NEVER let my customers in the dust and to think otherwise. Which means if someone from the Team finds out and confirms possible faulty batch, then I will be more than happy to either replace or refund your purchase as I'm sure that in this case I would be refunded the same way from Xconsoles.

Absolutely I reject that the chips you bought off me and that I sell here originate from china knockers as I NEVER bought any TX gear nowhere but from trusted and authorized resellers.

sorry forgot to mention I have tried the same chip on 3 trinity's and no luck , I took a chip off a working corona , and a working trinity jtag , soldered this one in place and I get nothing

to this date ive yet to see any knockoffs that look anything like a cr4. they may bare the name,but you can plainly tell thier fake with a quick glimpse.im sure its something simple and can be explained.
ive dealt with tr4ckerz before and never had any issue. the fact that he even acknowledges that ANOTHER customer had the same issue lets me know hes just as baffled as you guys are. while it is alot more uncommon to receive dead xecuter gear than pretty much anyone elses gear out there,there can be issues. it seems i bought a couple off morinzo not toooo awful long ago and ended up pming him cause one wouldnt work. oggy might remember that as well. might also be worth checkin to see if ya get continuance cross the jumper pins you have set,try to probe just the pads for the jumper housing and not the actual pins to make sure its sodlered good to the chip and thats not the reason for no dbg (iirc it wont do anything without the jumper in properly)

on the main IC, look for a faded CR4 logo. if you see a lighter one, its a clone. which one was it that you were trying to glitch on the picture? the one with the logo faded or with the logo lighter?

I brought stuff from tr4ckerz never had issues with what he sold me some im sure something strange or odd is wrong, but oggy says he will look into it because I was concerding buying some from tr4ckerz

I have the one on the right, you can notice the labels are like the ones used on clone stuff, like with a different font, I bought them from Xconsoles, like trackerz, I can send it if you want to check that that batch works, at least, the ones I bought work.
