I have the one on the right, you can notice the labels are like the ones used on clone stuff, like with a different font, I bought them from Xconsoles, like trackerz, I can send it if you want to check that that batch works, at least, the ones I bought work.
Thank you man, I do appreciate it, but no need to send it to me, I still have the last bulk package of CR4 from the same delivery. If you look at here - http://team-xecuter.com/forums/threads/150692-FOR-SALE-CR4-XL you will see that they are bundled in 36 pieces (at least that is how I was received them from XCONS). Both briggs01 and ins0mniac were sold pieces from that bulk package before the last and only they experienced issues. Means that if we are talking about 4 pieces of "suspect" CR4 XL, then remainng 32 pieces from the very same bulk package were ok because they are either installed in consoles by me or sold to my customers. This made me think that the batch itself is ok.

What comes to my mind is that the chips might not be programmed properly or not programmed at all. I remember some members here had similar issues with Slim Proto V2 and it turned out that they were clean - not programmed (at least I think I read that somewhere here on forum). Not having green debug LED might be a good proof, at least briggs01 clearly said that he did not get green debug, don't know about ins0mniac, he only said that the chips are not working but haven't explained the details.

I am sure it will be sorted in time , I am also sure you would not intentional sell faulty goods , as you say it could be a fact that they are not programmed or something

its is strange how you don't not get the sound that you usually get when trying to glitch or any green light

Briggs01 - your chip works fine.

Now, I didn't try it straight out of the package. You had solder in the ipex socket, removed that, installed into a trinity i had open & booted fine.

ins0 - I take it these were OK in the end?

I think I've just got my first faulty CR4, so if it's not resolved, I'd like you to check something for me...

I never realised you are also ins0mniac! This chip came from a customer who failed rgh2, pulling post out. I ran rjtag but there appears to be no slowdown.

I want to check someone else's before I condemn the chip, being the customer bought it from Aliexpress.

Hi

I found this thread because I have installed many CR4 XL's since release and Its my chip to buy but have had a issue recently.

Anyway I had 2 x new CR4 XL's in stock and a guy asked me to fit one in his Falcon. Wired it up and boot time was around 5 minutes and nothing I could do would improve this (dips, caps). Wired up a 2nd and same thing so I just thought stubborn Falcon. Next week a Jasper comes in so same thing wired up a CR4 and again same thing with boot times and when in the chassis it wouldn't boot at all. Tried my 2nd CR4 and same thing so I gave the console back to the owner as he wants it with RGH2. Yesterday another Falcon arrives on my doorstep, so I wired up both Cr4's and couldn't even get it to boot Xell so I thought ok faulty CR4's so ordered 4 more from my supplier. Wired up 1 new CR4 and still couldn't get this Falcon to boot. I also tried R-JTAG.

I phoned the supplier who know me instantly as I'm always ordering bulk CR4's and they said they also had a CR4 recently that didn't boot a phat also so they believe maybe they have a bad batch or a batch not programmed correctly or something (seemed shocked). They have asked me to send back all 6 CR4's and they will take a look / re-program / send back to there supplier if needed. They have a new order coming in this week so will test then send me 6 new ones.

I don't think the one you have is fake but Just wanted to give you my experience recently. CR4's are sick, fast and rock solid, so I'm curious to hear from my supplier once they get mine back and new ones in next week.

Thank you
