You definitely have persistence and thick skin. You need to have have excellent soldering skills before you touch your xbox motherboard, or you will kill it.
Regarding your programming of the cr, the switch needs to be set to norm, and not prog. And you need to provide 3.3v to the pads on the other end of your cool runner, which could come from the xbox installation solder points. The lpt cables need to be short, like 20 cms.
You really need to get your soldering under control before touching the motherboard though. Learn how to use flux, and be delicate with just enough heat to melt the solder and make it flow. Look up some tutes and practice on some other junk appliance.
