Feature request

Apologies if not the right place, but I had a feature request. I use an external HDD, and when it is over a certain number of files, it really slows down (it's a 3tb drive, 7200 speed Barracuda XT). Could there be a feature where it only has to scan once? At the moment, it rescans after closing one file, and that opening another. As it takes a while to scan, i think only doing it once would be great!
Thanks

im not sure but i dont think that this is possible/easily achivable.
bc when you connect an extHDD your system has to mount and initialize it, and when its initializing its scanning the filetree anyways... so afaik there is no way of circumwenting that (NON OFFICIAL ANSWER, TAKE WITH GRAIN OF SALT)
also you've got to remember that its only usb2.0 speeds so there is physical limitations too

Ah, USB2.0 only? I feel like an ass buying a USB3.0 enclosure! Didn't realise! Thanks

okay looks like imn partially wrong
the dock has 2 usb a ports on the outside, which are 2.0
the usb a port under the usb c port is 3.0 tho, so just connect your hdd to the usb a port in the back

Thank you, I've plugged in at the back as suggested. Is quicker, but still would be great if it was scanned once, kept a small file on the drive with the files, and then a scan each power on to look for any changes? I'm just the ideas man, not sure how it would be implemented!
