JTAG Few questions about building the image in J runner

hello. So I am very Excited In a trade I got a Xenon box sealed (until I applied new thermal paste). with a 5787 Dash. It works great the thermal paste looked good and it was not dusty at all. which makes me believe the guy who gave it to me when he said it was not even used all these years. so this is why I am going to put work into it(hence Xenon RROD)
I am going to jtag it, I just have a few questions.
After I write Xell and get my CPU key and I go to create the image what dash do I select? I am just being safe before I do this i DO NOT want to screw up my chance to achieve this.
If I select a newer dash wont there be an issue with the dvd drive? wasnt the firmware updated from 5787 and lets say 16202 or 16537?

Please your help and info will be very much appreciated.

You are correct. If you have anything except for a hitachi drive in there, you will need to flash the drive with updated firmware manually in order to play XGD3 games from disc.

Well in fact it does have a Hitachi in it? so what does that mean? I wont have to manually flash it with updated firmware? just for info I know it was never a refurb..

Not yet, anyway.

If you have a 78/79 in there, it could be activated to do so if you took official updates.

JTAG/RGH images do not have AP2.5 checks.

However, AP2.5 checks on Hitachis are handled very different than for other drives since MS can't flash Hitachis through updates like they did with all the other drive types.

Just and update. Everything went well no issues. booted up the first try. My only questions now is, when i go into Jungle flasher to update the firmware on my Hitachi drive will it let me write the newest version of LT 3.0 or do i have to update the stock firmware and then flash it with LT firmware?

flash directly to lt3
