Few weeks after X3 install, cdrom won't read

I installed teh x3, everything was fine, then the other day my cdrom crapped out. It reports everything as empty. When I boot to the MS dashboard i Get this contact customer service screen? WTF?? help me...

What error did it report?

Tried to clean\swap out\replace\replace ide ?

I have had the same problem here, I powered down the box and brought it back up several times, and it started working. Very odd. But by drive has had trouble reading DVD's before the mod so I did not think much about it at first. This weekend it did it alot, Games would apear to be blank. I brought up the box with X3 off and games worked fine.

confused about flashing xbox from lt 1.0 to 1.1

I have a liteon 74850c. I flashed it with ixtreme lt v1.0. To flash to lt v1.1, do I need to do the soldering mod?

If I do, where can I buy it in the US? The website only shows 2 uk places.

no just use the o/fw as source and 1.1 as target then flash

ok...what if I don't have the original firmware. I have a dummy bin from xtreme 1.60 and a dummy bin from ixtreme lt. and also a lite_cfw bin with xtreme 1.61 firmware and one like that but lt firmware. all these bins have my original dvd key

Do you have the LT Switch or something similar soldered to the LiteOn drive? You will need to get the drive in vendor mode to flash again, which requires the use of the MRA hack (you can use something like the LT Switch - I use this). Then just load the original LiteOn 74850c firmware (called 74850C.BIN, found in LiteOn_iXtreme_LT_v1.1.rar\LiteOn_iXtreme_LT_v1.1\liteon orig) as target and your dummy.bin (either one) as source - spoof source to target and flash!
