Hi,

I just flashed my Xbox 360 yesterday, and I would like to thank you all for your help, as well I would like to share my experience so that people who don’t have experience (like my self) may feel confident enough to do it and play their backup copies as I did :).

I hope anyone who read this will do the same after a success story; also I will add the links I used at the end of my post.

Well I had a Hitachi 059 model, I won’t go throw everything as the online tutorial already did, and I will just high light some points.

1 –
When opening HDD drive side of the Xbox 360 the 1st part which is near to the DVD eject button does have clips but you wont reach it, so you need to grape it a little hard (but not so much so that it wont broke) so that u will release the 1st 2 clips (one from each side).

This was in the Video but you need to watch it in slow motion to get it.

2 –
When opening the clips which attach the big white top and the bottom covers together, the front side is straight forward, however the back side (the power the video ports side) need the key like in the video other wise you will break it, don’t try with one screw driver as it’s extremely hard to do one by one, more easy to do it all in one shot as in the video.

3 –
The Hitachi 0059 doesn’t need to have any original DVD inside (not like the 0078FK) so you just need to bring it in ModeB and leave it opened and continue working normally.

4 –
If you don’t have reset button in your PC just turn off your computer, wont affect the ModeB as long as the 360 is on.

5 –
The VIA VT6421A PCI chipset works perfect fine, just plug the card install the driver from the CD and don’t bother with disabling the RAID as long as you didn’t install the RAID tool.

Note: RAID in a simple form is to combine 2 or more SATA ports connected to the HDD and (for example) mirror them so that if one HDD fails you can just change it and it will rebuild from the other one, I wont go throw explaining the RAID as this is not the idea, however feel free to PM me.

6 –
After running the tool and finishing successfully, turn off your PC and then your 360, then turn the 360 back on to close the tray and then off.

This is what I have done, I just highlighted some points, please don’t consider that as a recommendations or anything like that, this is only some points which I originally understood from the Tutorials and Videos.

Please note: opening the Xbox will void your warrantee so please do it at your own risk and use it only to play your own backups which you purchased.

Thanks very much for:
