Finding wrong flash

I set my switch to on,on,off,off go to flash my BIOS from disk and it tells me that it finds a 2mb flash?? so disconnected the switch and tried again and it still said found 2mb flash can anybody help me??

that's normal. X3 has 2mb of memory total so it's cool. Go ahead and flash using correct x3 bios for your xbox version.

what was the name of bios did you flash? and is your xbox fragging?

in your profile, you have v1.0 xbox correct? If you used X3 3029.bin and renamed it to bios.bin then that is correct. Try this. set your switches to off on off off off and see if you get flashbios. If not, get backup flashbios by pressing on power and eject buttons at the same time. Then flash to banks 5678 (off on off off off) and see if that works. If same thing happened, you might want to make sure it's the correct bios that you renamed.

I am trying to cover all possibilities here so I want to throw this in just in case. Make sure you are not renaming X3_3029.rar to bios.bin. Make sure to extract the rar file with winrar first and you should see X3 3029.bin as one of the extracted files.

i know the difference between a rar file and a bin file :)
trying an earlier bios version!

Have tried the bios before 3029 and it all seems to be working well now to install a new hard drive!!
