HITACHI NON-79 Firmware update for XGD3 coming?

Am I misinterpreting this quote from C4evaspeaks.com:

"All versions of Hitachi, except 78 and 79, do not have AP2.5 but were updated to conform to LT+ standards. Currently, there are no plans for newer firmware as these models have so far not been touched by the new dashboard update."

Tell me that doesn't mean that I won't be able to run XGD3 discs on my Hitachi non-79 console. I thought that there had to be a fw update to allow me to read the XGD3 backups.

i was also wondering that i have an hit 47 drive on LT+1.1 and im sure there is no planned 2.0 for this drive

old hitachi drives such as 47's etc didnt have their fw updated when all the rest did for xgd3 which would suggest that either ms dont care or that they dont need it and will work fine with xgd3 without an update.

im not sure which as i no longer have one to test but somebody her is bound to have one and be able to tell you if they can play xgd3 originals such as gears 3.

if that is the case i see no reason why backups wont be supported on them too when the new fw and 0800 fw is released.

My hitachi plays xdg3 originals fine so I would assume it will be able to play xdg3 backups

on c4evaspeaks all drives have pending on LT+2.0 but on hitachi non 78/79 there is nothing no LT+2.0 ?

So how do you play xgd3 backups on non 78/79 hitachi's? I've tried and it doesn't recognize them.

--- Nevermind.. found the answer. I'll wait for the 2.0 firmware for the hitachi.

I'm having the same issue here to. My hitachi plays the original gears of war 3 but when I put in my backup i get unrecognized disc. I Hope there is a firmware update pending or I'm screwed .

Lt2.0 is coming for hitachi soon, flash with this when it is out and your backup should play fine.
